You should try setting Astarion to 1 rogue 5 ranger (or all the way up to 3 rogue 5 ranger for the thief extra bonus action (which will be another attack)), sharpshooter feat for that +10 damage, gloomstalker for the heavy hit first round, dual wield hand crossbows, and you'll melt faces. For especially face melty results, Risky Ring for perma advantage (sneak attack every round), and Caustic Band if you want the +2 for each of your hits on top of that. You'll see 20-25 per hit with your main hand, same with offhand, same with multi attack, same with gloomstalker's dread ambusher, and again with another bonus attack if you went Thief. Five attacks your first round, four attacks the following rounds (each doing 20+ damage by themselves). You're basically Blade with this build.

Also if you spec into sleight of hand and keep the Gloves of Thievery and Smuggler's Ring to swap in, you'll have +12 sleight of hand (advantage) and lockpicking for all your skullduggery needs.
