Palapas Ventana "The Best of Baja"

An incredible experience freediving and spearfishing in the Sea of Cortez Mexico with Palapas Ventana. After diving for a few days in the sea of Cortez where Wahoo ,Pargon ,and monster sea lion's all swim right up to you. We headed to Thetis Point with the Palapas crew for one of there week trips to exotic diving locations. I met some awesome people and broke quite a few personal bests in free-diving and spearfishing. Perrin, very kind of you to put together this great video. Dennis is one of the worlds Great Guys, spearfishing in all of Baja Sur is nothing short of magical (I live in Loreto). PS: Each to his own, but the bigger grouper are not the tasty ones, stay under 25# for the best eating fish... you get bragging rights, but each big one is a breeder... think about fish population before you pull the trigger.

My favorite places in Baja i've gone to for 40 years the locals frown on spear fisherman because of this kind of gluttony. Why the hell do you need to kill all those old groupers?

I would agree, spearfishing all my life, over 40 years, those old grouper would be valueless to eat; especially when their are so many good eating species there. Even as a gamefish they could hardly be classified as meritorious. These big grouper & cod species are protected in Australia.
