The place in his range he sings that phrase is I believe in his mix voice between his chest and head voice and it happens to have the higher resonance of his head voice but with a bit of the fullness of his chest voice and so it produces a powerful effect. The distortion he uses on his voice from his vocal fry adds a emotional punch to the phrase that grabs your attention. The voice communicates a distress through this, and so our ears being conditioned the way they are immediately recognizes this like a alarm of sorts, however in this situation a very badass sounding alarm.

Theory: After watching the video several times I've focused on the colors present. Most of the guests are in shades of black and white as are the ballerinas, Daniel and Remington. Alastair and the banners by the stairs are too. My guess is that those that are completely head to toe in black are fully owned and controlled by liesel. For example Daniel who we know from nervous breakdown works for liesel is head to toe dressed in black white. Remington has a red stripe on his face and a red band around his leg so he's not fully converted but he's close. I feel the red stands for individuality and the persons sense of being. Sebastian and Emerson are also wearing black and white but are cloaked in red jackets and therefore still maintaining their sense of self. Several of the guests have small touches of red on such as a bowtie so they might not be fully controlled either. If we follow my reasoning that red represents individuality it could explain why Remington passes out at the end of the video. He's so controlled that he grasps for individuality aka the red drink at the beginning. Becoming self aware again may be too much and that's why he has to " hang on to himself " and passes out with the effort. Not being fully controlled and self aware the other two don't take or need the drink. Just felt the need to put my theory out into the universe. Enjoy!

good shit, I like this theory a lot... I definitely think you're right about the colour... I think Rem was more susceptible to Lisel from the beginning, as he was wearing the most black and white (out of seb and em) and he took off his mask at the start (whilst Em and Seb left theirs on). Remington seem's to struggle more with 'hanging onto himself' then the others who are all wearing lots of red whilst he barely has any. By the end I think he was panicking because he can't find himself and attempts to get to the drink like you said in an attempt to regain individuality but fails. Definitely an interesting story and I wonder if they'll continue it in further music videos...

This song feels almost like a direct message partially because I have little hope that I'd ever get to meet them, so thisd be the closest I could get, but for a long time I was suicidal, I was sexually abused, and had a purging disorder, all of which I still struggle with, but the one thing that kept me alive and still wanting to barely function was music, specifically this band, and just saying "hang on to yourself" makes me think that I can't give up now because I have come so far, and even if I don't know these three men who probably saved my life, in some sense they still care about me, and there's still good people out there even if I've met very few. K nobody asked but here’s my theory on this after just seeing this : This seems like the experiments of Lieseil inc (Palaye) were taken in FWMH and the tortured, tested and programmed to be something Allister could use. They’re a mere pawn( probably hence the chess board we keep seeing) to the plan of absolute power. The larger the numbers on the side of Lieseil Inc and Warhol Stars helps the new world order. Life imitates art and Palaye are being manipulated as entertainment for the guests at this banquet/ party. Just like how the ballerinas were dancing and then pulled out the guns, they’re just there and have been under control to perform for the guests, maybe even to show off the power they already have. Some things that I noticed and maybe I'm reading way too much symbolism into: 1. We see Alistair drinking red stuff that looks like blood. 2. Remmy, Sebastian, and Emerson are all wearing red, right? I feel like it represents a sort of industrial/gilded age social class, where the rich get richer by profiting off of the people working for them, while the working people slowly die. (As if the rich are drinking their blood like vampires.) 3. At the party, Remmy is wearing that red sash around his leg, and when he's on the stage he isn't. Something about being controlled vs not being controlled, and I feel like when he's on stage there's a sort of internal battle going on, and Alistair is watching as Remmy struggles to hang on to his sense of self, and then Alistair leaves because he's sees one side is winning. (Not sure which.) 4. We also see Remmy collapsing and then the crowd parting, and then we see Alistair coming down the stairs unsheathing a rapier. Did u guys notice,how in Fucking with my head & Nervous breakdown, the instrumentals are really messy,nitty gritty,dirty punk, & really intense,but in HOTY the instrumentals are really cleaned up,but when the build ups start,& the guitar chords get higher in pitch, it gets that hectic,messy, nitty gritty sound. And I feel like it's the visuals that throw u in for the loop. Fast paced,color changes, dark & dirty punk. It's all equally as intense as FWMH & NB, but it's more cleaned up,while still remaining true to the punk core. & I LOVE IT SO FUCKING MUCH. 😍😍😍😍😍
