One of my favorite bands, this is from their first (and best in my opinion) album "My Mind Makes Noises". This album and their first Ep "All The Things I Never Said" has a very new wavish/pop rock sound, they even got to tour with the Cure. Their newer stuff is alot more pop punk, still good listening but I prefer their early era. the sound and subject matter give me a very nostalgic feeling. i actually got to see them live in a small club and they were amazing. I think another good one from them is "One More Time".

I misread this at first and thought you were listening to eighties band the Pale Fountains! Nice standard modern indie pop song, tailor made for radio and suitably enough, it hit number 2 in the charts. I must admit I don't know anything else by them though. New Zealand band The Beths, who also feature a female lead vocalist / guitarist have done plenty of more interesting stuff in this vein with a nice sixties meets the eighties pop sheen - check out their track 'Future Me Hates Me', which is a favourite of mine. Or the Spector-ish sound of California band Best Coast fronted by Bethany Cosentino.

i had the yellow & black covered LP but never got round to listening to it, & it was probably a classic! Really grateful for examples on ones that got away from us Chameleons is another example of a band I didn't bother with but I fear I missed out The Adventures? Blue Aeroplanes - didn't dig the heavily plugged Jacket Hangs really But here's one for u The Corporate Waltz lp by Diesel Park West

It's pop. Good pop. Nothing wrong with it. A steady diet would get old but the occasional bit is just fine. For a good pop video try Faouzia's "Puppet" official video. Edited to add that Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings (the main folks behind The Guess Who and Bachman Turner Overdrive) are touring again. I am not certain of their ages but I would say mid to late 70s and still rocking.

A decent indie pop rock song , but there are so many bands that tread these waters nowadays . I usually need a little something more to keep my interest with this genre.

Love the channel. There's a real weird b-52s with David Byrne album called Mesopatamia. The first track of the same name is a good one. Really cool Talking Heads and B52s sound, Great, fun lyrics as always.

That is a Vox 12 string, not your usual Gibson or Fender. Very unique instrument,it may be a copy or an original '60,s model. The music is not my style too poppy, but it's nice that they are guitar driven in this age of digital everything and autotune. Peace & more prog., fusion, and metal please!

gettin' older or longer in the tooth makes us less prone to us repeating repeating ourselves- please Justin play The Passions "I'm in love with a German Filmstar" as it will help us trace the history of female front persons more effectively without neglect. Do all Bands have two sides? Probably. Genesis had at least 7. Talkin of which , please check out "Electric Brain Electric Shadow"'s channel as he 's almost finished his RUNDOWN Of 179 Genesis songs which every Fan should Watch! Great Fun indeed.

For the last hour or so I haven't had any sound on KZbin videos. Other sites seem to be working. Is it just me?

@@kentclark6420 I'll delete my reply then. And then this one can just demise when you've done your delete. (First time I muted a video on the tab I seem to recall it was puzzling, annoying, and it took a while to get to the bottom of it. Glad to hear that was the problem, and not something worse.)

While I think your positivity is a better attitude, for me this one was a NYET, I'm afraid. And compared to *Eat it up Worms Hero* ? A manifold nyet. Still, there's probably more to be gained by sticking to the bright side, like you've done here. If there's another level within the song, hasty judgement isn't the way to discover that. (But still, nyet.) I think maybe proper pop needs some accordion in it? Maybe? And ravens and crows in dark places. Clever birds, ravens. When they see the humans dressing up in the shiny metal stuff, and marching off together with the pointy things with the colourful banners, they already know there's going to be a nice feed later in the day. They don't just react later, they fly in to grab the best perches they can, so they can watch dinner being prepared. Nice things, humans, sometimes. Very considerate. To ravens. And pop needs lyrics borrowed from William Carlos Williams, maybe? And some clapping to help getting the jig in time with something. It's not pop if it doesn't have some jig to it. I don't think. Hang on! I know something like that! *The Wheelbarrow* kzbin.info/www/bejne/anzPdZahrKqog8U This is your life and it is mundane?? ... No, no, wait, not that. Change that line to ... I'll think of something. This is the neighbour's life and it is mundane? That has a much nicer ring to it. Sorry, I think it might not been a jig. Maybe the Highland Fling?

I suppose maybe a pop song needs a disco. So then how about *Meat Me in the Disco* ? kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJDKn4KGrcifqKs With an undertaker on guitar. It's always better to have an undertaker on guitar. If you disagree, well sorry, but they have an undertaker on guitar.

@@maruad7577 Thanks for the tip. KZbin suggested one by Raj Kappoor that has quite old-looking video with it. (Could just be an effect, though - but maybe it's the original.)

Ironically, as i read this i'm recording The Raven from Colony of Slippermen off Archive 1 from the Archive1cd on to tape cassette so that i can play my drums to it from the tape player in the garage. Me and Phil are gonna nail it. Chairs!

So would I be accurate in calling this 'Art Punk'? 'Art Pop Punk' maybe? I'll say it was 'interesting' to listen to, and not bad at all, and leave it at that.

Tasteless mass-produced pop. Interchangeable voice and anonymous composition. What's left ? the makeup ? not even ! Nina Hagen wore black lips in 77 and it looked cooler on her. Next......

What kind of guitar is that? Pretty sure it's what Ian Curtis played on "Love Will Tear Us Apart" before he offed himself. Not a good guitar, the girl here is trying to make history I think. Haha.
