That first game is the perfect example of why stun decks and stall strategies in games, whether actually strong or not, should not be encouraged in card design. Its not fun for either player to slog through a game, its not fun for the audience, it's not even a slow but thoughtful back and forth since the point of stun is to minimize how much interacting needs to happen by just using cards that dont allow certain interactions to be had unlike the also very slow deck Josh is using that DOES focus on slower but thoughtful interaction that can be interesting for both players and any viewers.

I agree that stun should not be encouraged, but the first game was not really an example of that, but rather a showcase of "sometimes they just have it". The stun player pretty much drew perfectly; Rivalry + Clockwork Night, plus Iron Thunder for Defense, a constant supply of Runick spells and of course the perfectly timed Runick Destruction. And as mentioned by Josh himself, there's an argument to be made that banishing the Rivalry when he did was a misplay as well. Any deviation from what happened in that game, and it might've been an easy win for Josh. But well, sometimes Stun players just draw one of _these_ hands.

I just built a Runick deck and im sorry to everyone about the damage these cards can do but they are just so cool lore and thematic wise. If it makes anyone feel better, I use Generaider Runick and Spright-Twin Runick, the deck drain is more of just like a timer for me. Stun/stall is boring imo. Also funnily enough I dabbled with making a musketrunick but spilled paleo in it as well lmfao (the deck was bad please give musket support man) and my interest in Paleo developed.

To be fair, Paleo is probably better than Runick thanks to Rollback and Traps with good GY effects now. Not surprised they have to rely on Stun to see any results these days.

I do not care what he thinks about Runnicks being a good deck but hope the first duel made him wake up on the horrid csrd design they have. No deck should be able to banidh to many of your cards and have a resource recovery greater than (current) Tear

Mfw draw 3 every turn, then with spright they just burn all the non runicks in about 2 turns, after that you are playing against full power runick deck that always has hand advantage
