I dunno if it's just me but... this music feels relaxing and unsettling at the same time. Maybe it's just because I know that this takes part in a horror game. But the music in general just feels like it's trying to calm me down in a dangerous and scary situation. A sweet lie telling me that everything is okay, when it's not.

If you really think about the context of what the tape represents to Mary, it very depressing, her father brought the tape player, but in the game it is said that he made the music and if I had to guess, this is Mary's Mother's lullaby she made for Mary, and in cannon she I think is dead, so let that sink in. This games lore is really sad for this character.

I grew up, but every time I stumble upon this creation, I have problems with insomnia, and I fall asleep in the light. This game is not fiction. This is a set of mental disorders. Including insomnia, sleep paralysis, panic attacks, hallucinations... I will never forget the creatures that my consciousness gave birth to. This game is simultaneously frightening, but so familiar... Sleep in the light tonight. The rat is attracted to the darkness, and it will watch and tremble in the most secluded corner of the room, throwing out only two red dots, perfectly white teeth and, maybe, you know, suuuuuuuch a light mechanical sound...

Is it only me or does this music reminds me of the feeling when you go to a place where a lot of traumatic and violet things happened, but when you get inside that place it is quiet and silent and in the atmosphere all you can sense is just the aftermath of those events that took place there. Meaning that it used to be dangerous but now this place is abandoned, silent, peaceful and quiet and everything you can sense in the ambience is just just the concequences? It doesn't make much sense but I still hope someone gets that feeling.
