Lovely vid. There's something magical about waiting for a ferry whatever the weather and facilities. That magic used to be there when you caught a flight but not anymore its all hurry up and wait and "Oh buy this".

Glad you liked it, traveling on the ferries is a great way to see things, if you’re not rushing

Me too I went to Naples 2 years ago and just one thing I must say:it was TERRIFICANT!!!! I discovered an amazing city with a lot of culture, and I also understood that you love all of Naples all!!!! It's not a case if there is the said "visit Naples and then died" I made an amazing journey in the ship directed to Naples by day cause I prefer this more than the night even if a journey in the ship in my opinion is the best way to travel always!!!!

A really laid-back mode of travel. Only 11 hours in transit. Did a quick check on other modes - same port to port. Driving nearly 8 hours (no break). By train 9½ hours (incl train ferry). So certainly worth the extra time to avoid the strain of land-based travel.

Palermo is on the (big) island of Sicily while Naples is in mainland Italy, so even if you take the train or the car at some point you'd have to use a ferry from Messina to Reggio Calabria which should be half an hour long or so.
At last you showed your cabin! Noticed you didn't have your usual beer with your meal!

Trying to cut down on the beer these days😀

That seems a nicely free and easy, if slightly chaotic, way of loading; you just seem to pretty much drive straight on straight off the quayside

Very nice video!! I hope you had an amazing trip to and from Sicily! however the Grimaldi ship in Palermo was the “Zeus palace” at that time operating between Livorno and Palermo. Greetings😀😀

Thanks for letting me know, think I came across the Zeus Palace before so I probably should have recognized it 🙄

I guess it should be possible to make roads which completely erradicates the need for this ship, no? Taking a ferry to a place in the same country which takes several hours is quite unusual.
