I see a lot of people trying to discredit the religious tolerance of Palestinians. Christians and Muslims in Palestine are one people, we don't care about the difference in religion, but I see how it might be helpful for propaganda to say otherwise. This is coming from a Palestinian Christian from Jerusalem.

There seem just a big difference with the immigrants and their offspring in the west. Seriously, one would expect they would become more modern and openminded once in the west, but what you see is they are way more oldfashioned and closeminded than their brothers and sisters in the arab world. If a muslim in belgium, france or holland for example put up a tree, even if its for the kids or a nice atmosphere and decoration, they would be harrassed and shamed by others in their community, such a shame

@@billieboybuddha4238 is2g i always think about it this when I compare arabs here and the Arab immigrants. It’s exactly how you describe it. They hold on to everything that is deemed intolerant. I believe it’s problem with the west because that’s how they are painted in their media, and the immigrant kids are struggling with their identity they grasp to their westernized portrait version of their identity because that’s all they know about it through western media.

@@billieboybuddha4238 It's actually a specific teaching of Islam that we can't celebrate Christmas because it would be mimicking these rituals that Christians do because they believe Jesus is God and was born on Christmas while we do not believe that. While these Palestinians are beautiful people and it isn't nessesarily bad that they do this, they aren't correct in celebrating Christmas because it's a sin called shirk.

This is how we supposed to treat all people from different religions, some people said that we are "Muslims" in Palestine more secular, no we aren't Please check this verse from Quran: " Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. The verse is talking about good treatment, and you don't need to celebrate their holidays to do that. 98% of non-Muslims around the world do not celebrate Muslim holidays, does that mean they are being bad to us? no, they just don't believe in our holidays. Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) told us that us Muslim have 2 holidays which Allah gave us in place of other holidays, he said this when he saw the people of Madinah celebrating foreign holidays. There is an ayah in surat al-Furqan verse 72 (And those who do not witness falsehood) the mufasireen explained that "falsehood" includes the holidays of the non-believers. Tolerance does not mean I go against my religion just to please others. Even Christians don't expect from us to do that and are understanding when we tell them that we don't celebrate Christmas because it goes against our beliefs, and they respect that.
@Muslim_Lady
@Muslim_Lady 2 жыл бұрын
@@minskdhaka Even Christians (many of them) know that Jesus was not born on Christmas eve, read about the true origins of Christmas and how it got mixed in with Christianity when it was not related to Christianity to begin with. Also, it's a religious holiday, as Muslims we aren't allowed to do anything religious that is not from Islam, and it's worse if it's origins are paganistic or it's people do things which go against Islamic beliefs.

What was the point of this question? Muslims generally don't celebrate Christmas, regardless if their Palestinian or not. Asking Palestinian-Christians how they celebrate Christmas would make more sense. Edit - Actually, I was wrong. I'm surprised how many Muslim said they celebrated Christmas. Of course, Christmas is pretty secular in the West, but I'd assumed Muslims in the Middle East would be more conservative about rejecting Christmas than Western Muslims. Although, I suppose Palestinian-Muslims are pretty secular compared to Muslims in Iran. I still think this question was pointless, but interesting results.

In Iran? Iran is the most liberal "muslim country", half the population now is agnostic atheist, no irani woman wears a headscarf outside iran, these women cover their hair not just with the scarf but that other thing like its freaking pubic hair. Iran is best, would be amazing if it got rid of its dictators. 90% of the young arent religious, and those that are generally arent badly. You should be saying saudi arabia.

I believe that would be what law/jurisprudence would call a leading question. Unless someone explicitly answers "No" or "I do not" or similar, the question's conclusion would be assumed. Many of the Muslim Palestinians asked were in Bethlehem. I believe it would be natural for them given their location per their answers to show courtesy and participate to some extent with tourists and local Christians who do celebrate Christmas. Doesn't mean they themselves celebrate it. Also, I don't believe the answers apply to Muslim Palestinians in general. I believe those who are further away from Bethlehem would be more likely to answer "No", or "We don't", or similar.

MYTHOLOGY Like Christmas, the Jewish festival of lights, Hannukah, is a myth. The miracle of the oil is pure fiction. So, sensible people who have a rational outlook, are well educated, sane and who closely study the research data don't celebrate/observe myths whether Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, weekly shabbat, Hannukah, Sukkot, Pesach or Christmas. The more we celebrate myths or lies, the more our brain gets dulled and we regress in consciousness. Cultural festivities devoid of attaching any historical significance to mythological events is alright since everyone needs to dress well, eat good foods and drink fine wine and laugh and joke with relatives and friends. Sensible people stick to the real and shun myths. Leading historians, geologists and archaeologists have cogently proven that Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Elijah, Elisha, Daniel, Micah, David, Solomon, Moses and the founder of Christianity, Jesus, among other figures mentioned in religious books did not exist and the events associated with them are pure fiction.

Can Muslims celebrate Christmas? There is no doubt that what is mentioned of celebrations is haram, because it is an imitation of the unbelievers. It is well known that the Muslims do not have any festival apart from ‘Eid al-Fitr and ‘Eid al-Adha , and the weekly “‘Eid” which is Friday (Yawm al-Jumu‘ah). Celebrating any other festival is not allowed and is either of two things: either it is an innovation (bid‘ah), if it is celebrated as a means of drawing close to Allah, such as celebrating the Prophet’s Birthday (Mawlid) ; or it is an imitation of the unbelievers, if it is celebrated as a tradition and not as an act of worship, because introducing innovated festivals is the action of the people of the Book who we are commanded to differ from. So how about if it is a celebration of one of their actual festivals?

Why should you have this interrogation of Muslims? We do not believe in the day of Christmas being the birthday if Jesus. We don't celebrate the birthdays of islamic personalities including that of Prophet. Please don't mis -translate what that muslim is telling about Jesus. He doesn't say Lord Christ. He says Syedana ISA. Syedana is an honorific for Chief, Master. Thus the prophet of Islam Muhammad as is refered as Syedana. Similarly now a days islamic Scholars are refered to as Syedana. Isa is the original way to say Isa, the Arab Jews, Arab Christians all say Isa. ( the long time Jewish Congressman from San-diego, California is named Darell Isa. ) No Muslims don't have to celebrate the Christmas as it is not the festival they observe. where we have friends sometimes we spend some time with them out of courtesy if invited. Plus this Idiotic thing about Christmas trees and Prophet ISA is ridiculous. Have you noticed the environment around Bethlehem? Not a place where fir trees grow. What next you will ask do Muslims believe in Santa Claus? Why don't you ask Christians in UK and, US what they do on Eid? Do they go fir Eid prayers?

Another biased interview. Strange how you show "all" the Palestenians answers are how they celebrate Christmas. Jesus is not god, he is a prophet so to celebrate his birth for Christmas is to celebrate the birth of a god and this is haram. @Sunny Fruit So it's like your hobby to deliberately misinform people for the cause of demonization of Israel. They received the Qatari donation not for "propaganda purposes", it was a hopeful move from Qatar attempting to build bridges with Jewish leaders for assistance in dealing with their Saudi Arabia dispute. While a couple of Jewish organizations believed the best way to deal with the Qatari threat is to engage with them, instead of cutting them off completely. This is a debated issue within the Jewish community, and within Israel. That said, the Zionist Organization said they'll return all the funds if they find it came from Qatar. And none of this has relation to the Israeli government, who govern our State, not our NGOs or charity organizations.
