The last election was in 2006. Anyone who did vote for Hamas would be at least 36 years of age. However, approx 50% of Gaza's current population are children under 16 years of age. It's been calculated that just 8% of today's population voted for Hamas. Therefore, to claim that this situation is "their fault for voting for Hamas" makes no logical sense whatsoever. Would you agree that this claim advocates collective punishment? That's a war crime by the way.
