@Sherrie There indeed was a nation for the Israelites in modern day Israel three thousand years ago. And another one again when the Jewish people managed to break away from the Persian empire before being invaded again by Romans. Jews continued to live within the Roman Palestine (which contained Arabs, Palestine was just the name of the region) and the Jews revolted multiple times against the Romans. The country was then invaded again 700 years later by Arabs, who were spreading war through the Mediterranean with fire and sword. The modern day Palestinians have no ties to the land, they’re not a native people, if you genetically test them they’re more likely to be Egyptian or Syrian than Levantine. A “Palestinian” national identity was invented in the 50s as a political tool to give a group of people land who didn’t need it. A group of people that after a compromise was met, invaded Israel again and again. No Israeli State? There most certainly has been, but Palestinian is a made up identity

@@johncalabria1607 "Both Israeli and Palestinian politicians claim the region of Israel and the Palestinian territories is the ancestral home of their people, and maintain that the other group was a late arrival. “We are the Canaanites,” asserted Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas last year. “This land is for its people…who were here 5,000 years ago.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, meanwhile, said recently that the ancestors of modern Palestinians “came from the Arabian peninsula to the Land of Israel thousands of years” after the Israelites. The new study suggests that despite tumultuous changes in the area since the Bronze Age, “the present-day inhabitants of the region are, to a large extent, descended from its ancient residents,” concludes Schwartz-although Carmel adds that there are hints of later demographic shifts.
