OH MY GOSH THANK YOU!!! I had seen another tutorial that ended up launching my poor glow bug into the sky and then deep underground and I about cried. I tried so hard to get it to work and then just begrudgingly gave up for awhile. Tonight I got some more motivation and found your video. What do ya know, I got it in the first try! 🎉 It's perfect ♡

Thankyou for the encouragement for those of us who can't visualise in our heads. I get discouraged when to enjoy the game I feel like I need to decorate but have so much trouble with it. I feel encouraged though to give this a go and experiment with it! So cute

I was already wondering how that glowbug got up in the tree at your campground. What a cool way! Definetly going to use that. I'm guessing this is possible with about everything that can be placed on a surface. I don't have those floating candles from Halloween but now I can probably make my own \o/ Thank you!

oh yeah you can totally float candles, and you can use the same surface to float multiple things! so play around, experiment, and have fun!

It can be done on switch. but not quite the same, not as neat as PC, but can achieve a similar look. I got a deer float outside my kitchen window. You can come and check if it works for you. My IGN is kel'o'ly. You don't need to reaction. I just want to share it, as I haven't seen many switch players doing it, but still not sure whether anyone need it 囧. +It is a pain to screenshot/video with switch.

Can you remove the anchor after you place it where you want? I saw somebody had a bunch of floating books and I'm trying to figure out how they did it. I'm going to see if I can get it to work with this method, maybe using the moonstruck table as the anchor and see how it looks! ty!

as far as i know, there is no method to float items without an anchor however you can float lots of items off one anchor so using a table at different angles to create multiple books in different spots off one table is totally do-able.

weird, once i get to the wall-shelf-wall-floor-anchor setup, i can move, but not rotate the shelf.

are you using the switch (you need to us the top L R LZ RZ buttons i think) and/or have you tried using a different shelf as a couple don't rotate?

oh! so do the same method, but don't rotate the shelf with the anchor on it *and* start with the anchor item on the ground below the floor piece. if that doesn't make sense, i'll do a short this week for it as well!

not sure what I'm doing wrong... I get all the way to where I am clicking on "4" because that's where my carrot is, but I attempt to place it.. and instead it only places the barrel :/

it could be the timing, or your keybinds are not set correctly and causing an overlap. its hard to know without seeing your game and settings.

Has anyone figured out how to make building blocks float tho? I really want my UFO floating and not sitting on pillars or a roof *Sigh*

you can make anything float using this method, it just needs an anchor. so if you start but floating one stonebrick off a stone floor, then build the ufo off the floating stonebrick (for example) if would be floating :D - if this doesn't work due to the stickyness of the building items, try using a table, bookshelf, or other decor item that allows the buildign block to sit on it. Then do the same steps of floating, then building off it.
