I think the Dutch had a hand in creating Luwak coffee. In the past, they prohibited Indonesian people from consuming coffee. But Indonesians were creative. They knowed that civets only eat coffee flesh and cannot process coffee beans in their stomachs. With creativity, Indonesian people could enjoy coffee that was more delicious than what the colonialists enjoyed.
