Today is one of those rare days when Richard got it right and Paulo accused him of cheating :) I though what Paulo said made it sound super hard to upgrade anything near the top of the deck so I check the rulebook. According to the rule book you CAN keep resources from one round to the next... 'At the end of each round you retain any stored resources to start the following round.' resources are only lost if they make it to the very top of the deck unused.
@PauloRenato236 жыл бұрын
correct... I thought I heard that you couldn't store the resources from round to round... de-noted!
@ShaneHpixels7 жыл бұрын
From the rules: "At the end of each round you retain any stored resources to start the following round." So the caption text stating otherwise is false. This game would be utterly impossible if you had to lose resources at the start of each round.

@17:13 According to the 1.4 rules on BGG you must discard the card in your hand (not on top of the deck) when you can't interact with either of the cards you're holding.

I like the minimalist design.. but I'm not convinced the replayability factor of this is very high.

Hi. Have you played it in the end, if I may ask? Is it still fun to play after several times or does it get boring?

Since you can never keep resources from one round to the next, there would never be a way for him to upgrade his Temples, as they were the first cards in his deck. Is that right? A bad shuffle could kill you from the get-go this way. :-(
@ShaneHpixels7 жыл бұрын
Horace Watkins Not true. You do keep resources from round to round (as he did from round one to two). You only discard resources if they get drawn to the top of the deck. Also, according to the rules you can never discard the card at the top of the deck. If you can't use either card, the single card in your hand must be discarded.
@masterbridgemaster17 жыл бұрын
Good, to know. I thought so, because that seemed wrong otherwise!

What I don't understand is how this game will provide replay value?
@rahdo6 жыл бұрын
every time you play, you shuffle the deck, and the order the cards are available created different efficiency puzzle to solve. add to that feats and character cards, and you've got replayability :)
@ilqrd.66086 жыл бұрын
thanks rahdo!
@Grejam536 жыл бұрын
Might be okay as a PnP but I wouldn't spend $20. for it. Question the replay ability too.
@Kristian_Jensen7 жыл бұрын
Isn't it kinda cheating to see what the next card is? That takes away the tactical decision you have to take between the two active cards.
@rahdo7 жыл бұрын
well, the game's not intended to be a memory dependant, and if you couldn't look but wanted to play well, you'd have to start taking notes, because strictkly speaking, you'll go through the deck 8 times, and for 7 of those 8 rounds you *should* have perfect information about everything to make better decisions. the designer has said that if you want to play the game in a sort of "hardcore" mode, you can purposefully not look ahead and then rely 100% on memory, if you find that more engaging :)
@Kristian_Jensen7 жыл бұрын
I have horrible memory :D But I guess you can make your own difficulty level with this game :)

Another game whose sole good points are the "novelty" of how it is played.. I do not liking this lack of creativity in board games. It's been some time since I was excited about one..
