Thank you Mario. By the look of your name you are probably lucky enough to live near taller ones in Spain or Italy ?😎🌴

Loved this video Chris! Mum only just showed me! I’ve now subscribed. The olive tree and banana trees are such lovely additions, just to add some different texture. Looking forward to the next video! X

Very well put forward you have a tropical garden quite suited for the hot weather

Thank you for appreciating my plants. Certainly, they are suited for the hot weather, especially as today the UK has just broken the record for its hottest day. It is 40.2 C at the moment! Phew! Sadly, due to global warming.

Hi Do you cover your Brahea Armata in Winter? I planted one this May in my garden in Bristol in a sheltered sunny spot, it has 10 full fronds and 3 spears and is around 4.5 foot tall. Wondering if I will need to protect it and if so how Thanks

Thanks for your question, Carl. I did cover my Brahea ( Mexican Blue ) for the first winter after planting with piece of perspex fitted to four wooden stakes. After that I just used a garden fleece bag on the innermost couple of leaves and the baby spear. Basically its the central spear that needs protection from severe frost. Also, I recommend putting a barrier ( wood, tiles, stones )around the base of the trunk in winter to deflect excessive rain. Braheas love water in the summer but are prone to root rot in our winters.

@@jtruman48 I’ve got some old roof tiles lying around which I could lay around the base to keep some of the rainwater away from the base, thanks for the tip.
