Ken, you do an awesome giving people an education. I have a massive library of books (+4TB) and this type information is very hard to find. I appreciate you taking the time to explain the 5 W's (who, what, why, when where) + how. When I meet car people, I always tell them about your channel and shop. Keep up the good work Ken.

I like the step process your taking.. the numbers are REALLY impressive with humidity and ambient temps.. just curious to what the IATs are post blower. Cooling mods will help make a difference... ice tanks only help for drag app.. but it would have huge gains!!!.. Also great info at the end for us nerds!! 8700+!!!!yikes 😓.. If it were only 55° 😁
@PalmBeachDyno4 жыл бұрын
They never get nearly as hot on the dyno as they would on the street because we are letting it cool down some between pulls and the pulls are short. On the 'cool' pulls it was around 115-120. And near 130 on the warmer ones.
@michaeln.70834 жыл бұрын
I figured it would be about that.. for regular driving a fan set up on the HE would be nice.. I'm not familiar with the HE set up or placement so idk if that's possible,.. you guys know this car well now so I'm sure if there's a way for it to fit it's coming

8720 rpm, 17 lbs of boost on a stock engine that you can buy from a dealer. God bless America.
@jefflong10324 жыл бұрын
Very informative , gain 3lbs of boost off TB/ported blower . Ken what did your car make stock 688 , just off those #'s that's a 269hp increase with a few bolt-ons ! Making that kind of power with the factory blower/ported and pulley's ....that's impressive !!!
@PalmBeachDyno4 жыл бұрын
That sounds about right
@MALR74 жыл бұрын
From my understanding porting decreases the air restrictions in the supercharger and boost is a measure of restriction , shouldn’t this mean that with porting the boost decreases but the airflow increases resulting in more power with less boost ? I would love to know your thoughts

wow. ive never seen what a ported blower looks like before but i wonder why they dont do that from the factory. the stock one looks so bad. like the air just hits a wall once inside the blower.

10:55 I thought the boost would drop because it's more efficient same way if you open the exhaust up and the power goes up but the boost drops

Is it right that toruqe bend rods not horspower , for example if we compare the new gt500 to the 13 gt500 in same 900 whp the wtq deference will be close to 200+ wtq is that a advantage for the new gt500 in high power level ? Will the new gt500 last longer because of low wtq ? And Yes I would like to watch the datalog 🤓
@PalmBeachDyno4 жыл бұрын
Yes. That is why you saw so many 13-14 rods outside of the block when you turn the power up.
@johnbyfield57764 жыл бұрын
True, but torque makes you go fast QUICKLY. The 2020 gt500 lacks the torque that is needed (especially at its weight) to compete with or defeat the upcoming ZO6 and Zr1 corvettes.
@johnbyfield57764 жыл бұрын
Top end torque needs to be dramatically improved to help pull through that awful aerodynamic wall from mid track and beyond. In addition, no one has unlocked the transmission tuning as of yet, so top end torque is extremely important when engaging high savages like built GTR'S and CORVETTES in Mexico or US autobahns.

Hey why is torque so low
@PalmBeachDyno4 жыл бұрын
It's not low. Horsepower is high in comparison because we are spinning such a high RPM. I have a video that explains it if you search for it
@speedlife3014 жыл бұрын
It’s a small engine and the new blowers don’t make the even hp/tq spit that the smaller blowers did. It’s a trade off the bigger blowers make more top end and can spin slower thus creating less heat. A 5.0 or 5.2 will not make the same tq as a push rod 6.2 or 427 and a a 6.2 or 7.0 427 will never rev as high as a dual over head smaller displacement 5.0 or 5.2. It’s a trade off
