I am in awe with how much people of Germany has changed since the Nazis. I am amazed this cathedral was still standing during Hitler's tight grip on Europe. But God protected this cathedral and I hope it stands to hold masses like this for a long, long time. Which I'm sure it'll stay for a long time because of the sheer size, and grandeur of the building. God Bless Germany.

die katholische kirche ist die einzige institution, die das showbiz wirklich beherrscht... selbst ich als einer, der mittlerweile nicht mehr so oft in die kirche geht (4 - 5 mal im jahr), wird immer mitgerissen... einzug, orgelspiel, gesang... schon was feines... irgendwie...

Sehr schöner Einzug! Allerdings weichen Orgel und Gemeindegesang teilweise schon sehr stark voneinander ab...trotzdem toll! :)

are suggesting God didn't protect the other equally grand Cathedrals,oratories and churches elsewhere in the land, protestant or catholic? Now, why would he favor this cathedral over another? It was protected by its visibility, mass and impressive structural properties. From the Cathedral website: "In World War II the cathedral was severely damaged. The interior of the choir was restored from 1945 to 1948, but work on the west end continued until 1956." And now, back to the music.
