Pal, thanks for your race vids. Amazing cliff climbing - reminds me of Penon in MX. If you don't mind: Do you think you cut too close to black/wht Enzo at 1:55? Or is that normal at PWC level racing? I like the move you made on the next circle when he circled too wide, you just cut inside entirely - that's a favorite move of mine, although it doesn't always net a height advantage. But it does feel better to core tight in the best lift than circle wide... Does he hollar at you at 2:55? I'm not criticizing! I love your flying, just want some 'insider info' for my next Pre-PWC race :)

Cloudsurf Paragliding hey there. No worries that was totally ok :) Anyway my body was almost at his canopy height, means that my canopy can pass beside/above his canopy safely. This was really not too tight, often we pass much closer when thermalling in big gaggles. In fact the smaller the gaggle the closer we pass because there are less objects to keep an eye at. At 2:55 he probably cheered since most of us recognize each other in the air. But of course mid-air collisions happen time to time and we really need to keep an eye open especially in the crowded gaggles at the start cylinder. Cheers :)

Nice vid. Thank you for sharing. Just a tactical thought: dont you think wasted way too many time (circles) at the top of the climb, before the turnpoint? - you knew there will be stronger climbs on the way back - you flew that track already, you knew its working like hell - the climbs were also clearly marked by other gliders coming to the TP Wish you the best for more comps, you are the best! Fly safe!

After the turnpoint we had to cross that valley again to race back to Feltre. I felt like it was the time to get high and stay high until then and the lift was still good to stay in for 1-2 more turns. cheers

at 5:25 you pulled the "A" rope or "D' ?
@paltakats9 жыл бұрын
Julien. always the "B" (the rear one)

***** Ok thank you ! and amazing flight !!

***** and why did you pull it?
@JeanMarcGarin9 жыл бұрын
+Julien. He pulled the A rope to go faster (speed bar) and the B rope to prevent collapses or for making small changes of heading with less decreasing of preformances than using brakes

I appreciate your note of caution to all us weekend warriors out there, that this intense level of risk taking (tight cliffside, highly thermic) should not be considered the norm for us. Hopefully they will read far enough to view the disclaimer. Nice job, Pal.

why does the pilot keep pulling down on the back risers when moving cross country? what is the benefit?
