Pal spheres: 1 vixie in a ranch Mega spheres: bottom of volcano, merchant, 920 each. Giga spheres: main dessert area, human enemies drop them. Hyper & Ultra: chests & making as you need, immediately abandon as you get legendary Legendary spheres: craft So, once you can farm gigas in the desert best to swap to only these as you'll be drowning in these & have a good capture range; with also using only whatever your highest sphere is, end game you should only have gigas & legendaries as the rest are pointless.

You can also just hit the sort button for your inventory and it resets the timer on food, works in anything the "sort" option is on. The only annoyance is, to do this to food in your bags you'll need to put the food back into your inventory, then hit sort, and then put it back in the food bags. I know that doesn't seem that bad but it gets tedious real fast.

Work speed for ranching pals increase the speed of the digging animation. Also since Hollow didn't do the proper research having to many viewing boxes are bad for any world as there seems to be a big memory leak with them.

Viewing Boxes are also disabled in Dedicated Servers, so not really usable for anyone playing on one.

I disagree on one point - work speed does seem to affect breeding speed. I had two parents with Musclehead and, in a couple hours, they only produced a few eggs. I swapped out one of the parents and things immediately started moving a lot more quickly.

I've timed it, and the egg-making takes 5 minutes for each egg. Stats don't change anything. Only time the timer pauses is when one or both parents go to sleep at night, you remove one or both parents, or you don't have cake in the box. Then the egg won't pop up even if the timer is full, until the cake is put in. HOWEVER I have noticed that if I'm not staying on my base 100% of the breeding time, the timer does get a bit wonky once in a while. But typically only if I spend a lot of time away from base. To me it's kind of like the ore farms. Not much gets done if you're not there.

You're right, work speed does increases breeding time, if you add all skills and upgrade the skill improves significantly eggs production, tested already with all important species.

@KryssyKat check again bro since your test are inaccurate, you can check by placing 2 breeding zones, you will see both visual and chronometrycally advantage from the one ones with speed work towards the others respectively, pasive skills, work speed from spirits and food improves egg lay on more than double so it's highly recommended.

Did you know you don't have to unlock armour and weapons in the tech tree? You can actually craft them if you find a blueprint... Exception are lily's spear and the sword

A few things I disagree with here, vixy is great early on, but once you have the 3 main bases up and running (ore/coal,sulfer/quartz and breed/main base), you can just craft the first 3-4 spheres types with minimal cost and time. Also, high quality cloth sells for 40 each, with the crafting recipe yes being more expensive then regular cloth, but still very easy to make. I'd prefer cotton candy which sells for 150 each, or nails for 160 each. Theres a world setting that controls structure deterioration, turn that all the way down any you can build outside of the base without worry of it being destroyed. Only up across the whole map?? 🤔

Apparently, work speed technically does affect ranching pals, however it seems to only affect the animation of them creating the item (so they're only "working" when generating an item, not while "grazing"). However, that sort of speed bonus is so negligible as to not really matter since the bulk of the time involved in ranching is the "grazing" between item spawns.

it's not negligible actually, a level 2 chickpea actually produces less eggs per hour than a level 1, simply because of the working animation, so getting up to 115% (max?) animation speed can seriously make a difference, especially as you get to those higher levels with multiple eggs.

Poor Cotten being puppated around. Also could just cook meals and not pick them up till your ready. You don't lose them during heath or logging out and doesn't spoil. Just have lots of cooking areas, order meals, and then no spoiled food and when your ready have good meals.

Another way to keep food from spoiling is to que up a cooking job. When you que up a cooking job it pulls all the ingredients out of your inventory and chest into a pocket dimension inside the cooking station. While the ingredients are in the cooking station they can't degrade. Finished food also can't degrade until you take it out of the cooking station. So you could keep your milk from degrading by cuing up all of it to be cooked into warm milk and then unassign all your kindling pals so the milk never gets cooked. When your ready to take your milk back you just cancel the job and all the milk in the cooking station goes back into your inventory.

Yeah no, don't use the viewing boxes. Having even 3 of them full of pals is enough to overload your game and trigger the World autosave failed bug. Just don't, wait for a patch or some way of storing more pals than currently fit inside the palbox. And if you're getting that bug, you should remove your viewing boxes and set some dedicated transporters in your mining and farming bases. Raising the item limit to 5k in world settings helps, but will only delay the issue.

@@KeeperOfDGroove Honestly they're both probably going to be patched at the same time. They're likely from the same, or a very similar issue related to inventory management. It's possibly related to food decay resetting when eating the food. That timer reset is probably being triggered by both the sort and the death bag. Edit: Scrolled down midway through him explaining the death bag glitch to see if anyone was talking about the sorting resetting the timer. So this post was me being dumb with only halfway listening to the death bag glitch.

I wish they'd change the condenser. First lvl is using four of the same Pal aka a 4x, next level then gets ridiculous as it requires another 4x taking it from 4 to 16. The last two levels are both a 2x but jumping from the second level of 16 to 32 and then 64, it's a high jump.

Ranch animals benefit from work speed perks; like artisan, work slave, serious. It doesn't drop more often because of it, but it does increase the speed of which it drops. for example, a chickpea laying an egg, the animation is faster. useful for pals leveled up via condensed, as they produce more items per 'lay', which plays the animation multiple times, delaying the timer start for the next 'lay'.

idk about selling sibelyx HQ cloth for cash as you saw that it only netted 40 gold per cloth. If you want free money like that, skip the middle man and just get some Mau or Mau Cryst for the base. Most of my cash usually comes from selling Nails since they are around 160 a mail and 1 Ingot makes 2 nails, turning a 10 gold item into 320 gold.

On my third base I set up a ranch with a bunch of Mau with good passives for working and they farmed gold constantly. I caught a red coat merchant so I can pick up the gold from Mau, put the merchant on my base, and buy things like bones, organs, etc.

try just a ton of berry farms and a high level cook, selling baked berries to the merchant. breed some lyleen by buying the wheat, eggs, and milk for cakes to increase those gains even higher; a level 4 star has 5 planting. late game, Jormuntide and it's ignis are the highest watering and furnacing, respectively. excuse the pun, but with your already boosted infrastructure it'll be a "piece of cake" to breed them out as well.

I did the Mau base too. I don't need to farm for bones, horns, oils, etc. It's so useful. For cakes, you can also get milk and eggs for cheap like 50 gold each. Since Maus don't sleep, they just constantly keep producing unlike Mozzarinas and Chikipis.

Sanity doesn't go down in ranch and breeding pen. Movespeed and hunger for ranching can be useful to get them back in range faster when they wander out of range of the ranch

For grazing animals work speed shortens the digging animation. If you shorten the animation by 3 seconds then after digging up 100 items you've saved 5 minutes. Sibelyx is actually really good because it takes 10 wool to produce 1 high quality cloth. So by putting sibelyx in your ranch your cutting out having to wait for lamball/cremis/melpaca to produce 10 wool aswell as cutting out the time you need to craft the wool into high quality cloth. You also don't need to spend a tech point to unlock high quality cloth. You'll need several hundred high quality cloth if you want to make large pl beds for all your pals. That several thousand pieces of wool.

For my base of 14 working pals, 2 woolipops make enough cotton candy to feed the whole base. I didn't see a spoil timer on the cotton candy, and i can use all my berries to make cakes instead of cooking some. Cotton candy restores 5 sanity and 5 nutrition, so it keeps my pals working and fed.

I think the issue would be that 5 nutrition is so negligible that your pals like spend a lot of their work hours pathing to and from the food basket. I'd say there is value in not taking up pal time trying to farm up food, but two slots totally dedicated to low nutrition food and nothing else feels ouch to me. Surely 1 farming pal and two berry plots would get you ahead of that easily.

@@mechanical_chaos actually berries are a lot more nutrition but less sanity. This is a healthy balance of the two because your pals will take fewer breaks, leaving them to get more done. Pathing to the food basket or whatever it's called only happens when they're hungry, and they'll eat until they're full either way. I don't see an ouch in any of that. Maybe the problem is your perspective

@@Expunge6667 Actually, mechanicalchaos395 is correct about the wasted time pathing from work to food basket, and you're incorrect about eating to full. Pals become hungry when their hunger bar reaches 50%, then they go to the basket and only eat 1 food item and go back to work until they are 50% hunger again. So let's say you use Astegon for mining who have 600 hunger. When you reach 50% hunger or 300/600, it'll eat a cotton candy to 50.83% or 305/600 then go back to work and be drained almost immediately. Which is better - cotton candy or berries, I don't know. There are too many factors. Giving your pals nothing but 5 nutrition meals is a lot of wasted time, but feeding them low sanity meals is makes your pals inefficient unless you are manually giving them sanity food and feeding them medicine. Also, each pal has their own metabolic rate and hunger meter. This means each pal will have their own optimal food that matches their hunger/sanity drain rate. Cotton candy may be better for some pals and berries may be better for others so maybe both low-effort foods are just as bad.

@@kurii- sorry but you are objectively wrong. Every time my Pals eat, it's multiple food items. I have watched them and carefully considered between the two options and have decided I'd rather have them eat more of one item that restores sanity to full than to have them eat fewer high nutrition items that restore less sanity. You can play the game your way but until you actually do the work and look at the results, don't come at me. I'll play the game my way which has been working, thanks.
