I would say that this game is more about mystery than horror.

this series is like a test of player's knowledge of folklore superstitions.. Like not taking cold baths late at night is not something intuitively we feel can "invite spirits". Eventually the more "wrong" things done, the more haunting players will experience. At the end of the game it might tell you what you've done wrong and what it means.. I feel it is intriguing to learn abt the superstitions, as it is to learn abt different types of southeast asian ghosts and their speculated backstories...
