PAMBAN NEW SEA RAIL BRIDGE UPDATE | பாம்பன் புதிய கடல் ரயில் பாலம் | नई पाम्बन नया समुद्री रेल पुल

The New Pamban Bridge will be 2.07 km long in total. It is expected to be a boon for devotees and pilgrims who wish to embark on a spiritual tour to Dhanushkodi and Rameswaram, in the state of Tamil Nadu. Soon, the New Pamban Bridge would replace the old bridge which had played a major role in connecting Pamban Island with mainland India. An amount of Rs 280 crores is being spent on the construction of the New Pamban Bridge.

Few years back i thought that why not Government & IR construct new Railway bridge in height of Vehicular bridge from the danger of cyclone or natural calamities. Good to see that it is already started. Is it single track or double track with electrification?

New bridge which is under construction is double line as well as it will be electrified. RVNL is constructing this bridge. 2023 end it will be operational.

Dhanushkodi is in the opposite direction from where the train travels.Further, there is no train line existing now to Dhanushkodi.After crossing Pamban Rly.bridge Mandapam(coast guard station is there) is the Rly.station,afterwards you can go either to Madurai or Trichy

To Shri somasundram suresh, when meter gauge line, one express train run between Rameswaram to chennai Egmore via madurai, dindugal, Trichy, Villupuram, and called "sethu express". After conversion, the sethu express run thro karaigudi, thrichi, Villupuram upto Egmore. If it is any possibility to restore existing route?
