I like that you adapt the recipes - that's how real people cook. If you are missing an ingredient, or there's something in the recipe that you don't like or are allergic to, or you're vegan/WFPB and the recipe is not, substitutions make perfect sense. And sometimes when adapting a recipe you serendipitously invent a *new* recipe that is even better than the original! Keep cooking your way, it's why I watch your channel.
@pbwithjeremy13 сағат бұрын
Thank you so much for this-it means a lot to hear that you appreciate the way we adapt recipes! You’re absolutely right, that’s exactly how most of us cook in real life. Substitutions are often born out of necessity, preference, or creativity, and they can lead to some of the best surprises in the kitchen. I love the idea that adapting a recipe can sometimes result in something even better-that’s the beauty of experimenting with food! Your encouragement to “keep cooking my way” is so kind and reassuring, and I’m grateful that it resonates with you. Thanks for being such a supportive part of the channel-it’s why I do what I do! 😊

@@pbwithjeremy ♥ There are channels that do nothing but make other people's recipes exactly as written, and honestly, I don't get the point. It always feels to me like they are just trying to make $$ off someone else's work, instead of actually adding value to the process. And it's boring! You're not just teaching people to follow someone else's recipe, you're teaching them to *cook*. Soapbox aside, I love your channel. You and your family keep it real!

I bought this for my oldest granddaughter for Christmas. She had been hinting about it. I love the book. I've made a couple recipes from it and I know my granddaughter will enjoy making some as well. Something my granddaughter will love, besides the recipes, will be some of those lovely comments about life from Pamela Anderson.

I bought this book because I love Pamela Anderson. To me it’s a gorgeous book that has some recipes that I would try and others that I wouldn’t. Just because some seem pretty involved(lots of steps and parts). But I’m happy I own it just the same. I really enjoy reading cookbooks and this is a nice glimpse into her life. 😊

I love your review videos. About oatmeal, I make the best oatmeal in the instant pot. 2 cups rolled oats, 5 cups water, and a pinch of salt. Cook manual pressure 4 minutes. Do quick release once done. Then we just add whatever mix-ins like fruit, cinnamon etc. We reheat leftovers in microwave and add a splash of unsw soy milk.

I just made the Moroccan stew recipe from your book. I doubled all the spices and added cinnamon. I doubled the spices because I can’t taste as well as I used to for some strange reason (covid, older, glp-1 meds..who knows) but I do that to practically every recipe I follow. Added the cinnamon because I felt like it needed something extra I couldn’t put my finger on. Found another Moroccan stew recipe online and saw they used cinnamon and that did the trick for me. Never had raisins in a stew before. Loved it so much when I ate the first bowl that I added more-doubled that too! Ha! It was very good, and I will make it again. (Saved the aquafaba and stored it in the fridge because I noticed there’s a lot of your recipes that call for it. Wanted to have it on hand.) Looking forward to the next recipe. 😊
@pbwithjeremy13 сағат бұрын
Thank you so much for trying out the Moroccan stew and for sharing your experience-I love hearing how you made it your own! Doubling the spices and adding cinnamon sounds like a fantastic twist, especially if it brought that extra something you were looking for. It’s so cool how you found inspiration from another recipe and brought it into this one-I’m all for getting creative in the kitchen! And yes, raisins in stew can be a game-changer, right? I love how they add a touch of sweetness that balances out the spices. Doubling them? Genius move! Also, kudos for saving the aquafaba-it’s like liquid gold for so many recipes, and I’m thrilled to hear you’re planning to dive into more of them. I’m so glad the stew was a hit, and I can’t wait to hear what you try next. Thanks again for the lovely message-it made my day! 😊

Definitely yes on the dog stuff. I stared making food for our dog after working it out with a vet who explained that unlike cats, dogs can eat less animal protein and still be very healthy. Ours absolutely loves tofu but then again, he’s a lab mix🙃
@sharonknorr11066 күн бұрын
Well, most labs will eat almost anything, literally, we had one that ate the wooden shingles off our house as well as giant zucchini and pumpkins. We have a husky/lab mix now who is very picky about food and won't eat any veggies or tofu or fake meats. He does love peanut butter, though, so dog treat recipes with that would work for him.

On the dog cookies… if anyone has a spritz cookie press (probably got it out for Christmas), that would be a really easy way to make small dog cookies. A dog bakery near me has a base recipe of simple ingredients and they simply vary the flavors like you were talking about doing. The flavors I remember were peanut butter, cinnamon, cheese, beef broth. The peanut butter is really popular. Their beef broth one was basted so you could baste a plain dog cookie with a plant-based flavor that they like. 🤔

These are my fav PBJ videos!! This one was great and I had several thoughts while watching: 1. You did not deserve the kids vitriol over your soup. 2. I dislike people who give you shit about not sticking to the recipe, especially considering you are supplying us with the ingredients so they can stick to it if they want to! 3. Black vinegar!? Is that easily replaced? 4. I enjoy Dale's thoughts, is she Woolies sister? She's always so positive! 5. After you made that oatmeal I wondered, have you ever made a savory oats recipe for breakfast? Thanks for all you do!

I would love to see a show all about dog treats! When we got our dog from the shelter, they said she gets diarea from peanut butter. I've since read that if you give your dog peanut butter, make sure it's pure with no artificial sweetners (apparently those are not good for dogs). Not sure what kind of peanut butter she had been given, but not willing to chance it. Maybe pure tree nut butters would be okay.

So a few questions about your version of the recipe. The original calls for 5 cups total flour, but it looked like you only added 3. Also, the original called for 1 cup oil, you said you added only 1/2 cup aquafaba. And then the salt - the original called for 1 1/2 teaspoons, but you said tablespoon when you were adding it. Those all seem to be pretty big departures from the original so am wondering if you misspoke while filming or did you really use 3 cups flour, 1/2 cup aquafaba and 1 1/2 tablespoons of salt. Want to try this, but don't want to set myself up for failure.

Uncle Fester? 😆 I don’t know. If you develop dark circles under your eyes and put a lightbulb in your mouth and it lights up…well, then you should worry! 🧑🦲💡 The book looks interesting, particularly the Moroccan anti-inflammatory soup and the Buddha bowls. Your variation on the whole wheat focaccia looks good! (I know someone who was on the American version of the Great British Bake Off and her focaccia is delicious, but contains a lot of oil. It would be interesting for her to try your version of the focaccia recipe.) I have a bunch of Scandinavian baking books, and the recipes are way less sweet than the North American recipes. I think a cup of powdered sugar is definitely a North Americanization.
