Two kids who lived hard and died so young. Jim and The Doors sure brought many hours of joy into my life. I received more than I gave by 1000X. I think I may have bought The Doors on vinyl, eight-track, cassette, and CD between 1968 and 1995 for a total investment of maybe $50.00. RIP

Jim was a fascinating man. Highly intelligent, sensitive, and amazingly creative. Unfortunately, he was a terrible alcoholic with demons...whatever they were. Two people involved in a relationship that involve alcohol and drugs, will end tragically. I'm just sorry the information was not available at that time to get the help for their addictions and live full and happy lives..... Thanks for the music!

"I see myself as a huge fiery comet, a shooting star. Everyone stops, points up and gasps "Oh look at that!" Then - whoosh, and I'm gone... and they will never see anything like it ever again... and they won't be able to forget me - ever." - Jim Morrison.

This is what Patricia Butler said in her book Angels Dance and Angels Die - Jim and Pamela took great pleasure in trying to scare each other, popping out of dark shadows, waving knives, or playing chicken in the car on the steep cliffs of canyon roads. They were like children left unattended, reveling in their youth, their freedom, and each other, sometimes risking their lives for an even greater thrill. They were going to play until there was no sand left in the box. Jim said that Pamela was the one who had gotten under his skin, that she was his cosmic mate. He considered her to be his cosmic counterpart. He felt that he couldn’t live without her, that she was the one that he always returned to and she was the complement to his existence. ‘I’ll just this about that,’ he wrote of their lopsided union, 'I was the mouse who caught the cat.’

They was more like what they call twin flames. They was 3 years apart and died 3yrs.apart. Both died at 27 yrs old. Coincidence? Twin souls. They were the masculine and feminine version of eachother. They loved and hated eachother. They ran away from eachother. It was too complicated to just be soul mates. They triggered eachother. Thier love and attraction kept them coming back, but Jim and Pam needed time away from eachother. Thier love was intense. So it scared them. So they seeked other partners to fight the love. Neither wanted or believed in a love this strong. Thier childhood traumas caused them alot of pain and to walk around lost souls. If the drugs wouldn't have killed them. Maybe they could have got passed all of it eventually. But Jim and Pam's relationship would have taken alot of work and spiritual growth.

Sarah. good point....however, Pamela was young, beautiful, she had her man. was rich and was in Paris. Plus, she single handedly walked off with the prize . No doubt in my mind she loved Jim and would never have done anything to hurt him. They were both kids.

jacky pattersont She didn't walk off with the prize, she died at 27 years of age too before any of Jim's estate was settled. They were both living a life of excess and died young. Jim's health was so bad in the end he could hardly climb stairs to his residence. Excessive drug use damages your organs because of lack of sleep, your heart simply can't keep up, he was just 27 but with a body much older and damaged.

Hell is horrible and nobody should go there that is why in the Bible in the new testament Jesus Christ talks more about Hell than Heaven; if anybody wants to receive Jesus Christ as their Personal Saviour please say this prayer out loud with your whole heart - Jesus Christ I repent of my sins, I accepted you Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, I believe Lord Jesus that you died for me in the cross and was resurrected on the third day, thank you for writing my name in the lamb's book of life and thank you for saving my soul Amen. If you just said the prayer try to look for a Holy Spirit fill church and be baptized in Jesud name, remember everybody Jesus Christ brings healing, happiness, joy, peace and prosperity.

When Ray Manzarek was asked about any regrets about Jim, he said, "I wish that I'd taken the bottle from his hands". When Ray was asked what he wished he had told Jim before he left for Paris, he said, "I love you." Regularly tell people you love that you love them, because you never know when you're going to lose them. Don't be afraid to encourage someone to seek treatment for substance abuse; you might not get a second chance. And always remember, "Love's the only house big enough for all the pain in the world".

And as for the junkie heroin jump on assault bus, the black and white is the happiness between two people, regardless of timelines in lives, found each other, even for a little while. Neither innocent, but not without love. Let that joy be more guidance than blame game or gold digger talk. If you love the Doors, you'd know enough to know that's how Jim would remember their time. Void of gossiping against whom he chose to love. We didn't know her, him, or them together. Let them rest in peace they knew in whatever brevity, it was theirs.

These two were encapsulated forever within the era in which they lived and died, never to know the trappings of our modern life, cell phones, internet, digital domains, never to grow old. The fleeting intertwined nature of their relationship was matched only by the infamy achieved in the tragedy of an early demise. Still, I am haunted, hopelessly mesmerized as two moths spiral into the flame....

@Christopher W. Petro I saw the Doors play at the Isle of Wight in 1970. Morrison was unhealthy, bloated and sick after he finished the vocals on the LA Woman album...he went to Paris to get away from it all for a while.
