If the tube oils get mixed 1:1 with CWM why don’t the paint sticks need any CWM? Do they pick up the medium from the substrate? Thanks. Your videos are great!
@PamelaCaughey10 ай бұрын
If you mean RF pigment sticks - they do have some beeswax in them + oil + binder; cold wax is made with beeswax and solvent (heated and cooled) so the chemical composition is close enough :)

Hi Pamela, if you have challenges with the sound I would upgrade to external mic. it will make a major difference. Check the sound audio levels as well, since after they get blown out there's no fix. You could also add sound panels to create a much richer human voice in the room as well. Maybe add a carpet below where you speak as well. You may want to consider just redubbing all the audio as a lot of ppl may tune out just from bad audio. All the best.
@PamelaCaughey5 жыл бұрын
Hi ShawN - thanks very much! I do have several external mikes (Rode, Sony, etc) and it seems to be a problem with compression; I did use my Rode mic but had a bit of a malfunction at some point during the video. I also had a Broll camera set up and though it didn't run the whole LIVE, what it captured without an external mic was at least better.Doing tests this week - thank you so much for your suggestions!! ;)

A question about the galkyd. Is it better to use gamsol to thin your paint or the liquid galkyd and galkyd lite? What is the difference?
@PamelaCaughey5 жыл бұрын
It is best to use a 1:1 of Galkyd:gamsol if using it throughout your painting; the Galkyd gives the paint strength and flexibility and gamsol alone can over dilute the paint binder.

@PamelaCaughey5 жыл бұрын
anne mcginn It depends only on whether you intend to work in acrylic only (white gesso) or if you wish to work over your acrylic under painting with oil/cwm-if so, then clear gesso allows you to see the acrylic under painting 😉

Have you done a greyscale composition? Have you seen the Guernica? I saw it in '77 in NYC at the Museum of Modern Art. I wept. Pablo Picasso completed it in June 1937. Happy picture-making journeys everyone.

Crochet Happy I have found the more I believe in what I am doing, the less it matters what others think. I used to paint to please others but this is not what art is about. Authentic art is meant to reflect our innermost thoughts, inclinations, needs, desires and ideas; what does this ever have to do with what others want or expect from us? We do not live the lives of others so the only life we can express is our own.
