Pamhidza UndiGamuchire is a Shona Hymn 43 which is a prayer to God. In the prayer, the Psalmist acknowledges that he is a sinner and has lost the ways of GOD but he is asking God to forgive him and take him back.
In Life we go the wrong way at times and even forget that God is the one who gave us this life that we have. Always remember to look back and remember that without God you can never exist.
No matter how much you have sinned, he is ready to take you back and cleanse you.

You are very right, True Same Hymn with the "Sedi La Dichaba" song , i love the version by Winnie Mashaba & Paul when they performed it live. Most African Hymns have a robust colonial history too. listen to western church hymns you will understand what happened to over the years.
