I am So Happy that you are making this cat sofa! I always wanted to do this, OH Yeah!! Thank you Mikey, Oh Yeah!! I have saved all my extra yarns, scraps of strings, and cuttings, and I put it in a medium plastic bag so I can use it for other things like this. I did a medium size pillow for my living room sofa with all my scraps of yarns during the pandemic shut down which I think that was a brainstorm of an idea. Thank You for sharing. I need to make two of them for my chunky little fat cat, Sally. You A Best crochet maker!!

Hi Mikey! Is there a way to make it a bit bigger for a small dog that is a bit bigger then a cat? 😊
@TheCrochetCrowd3 жыл бұрын
The entire project and all components need to be redesigned include foam cutting measurements. There isn't that available at this time without striping this back to the core and redoing everything from scratch. I'm sorry.

Would i be able to use poly-fil stuffing instead of foam? Foam is very very expensive 😅
@TheCrochetCrowd2 жыл бұрын
I don't think it would hold it's shape. I agree though. Polyfil and foam can be expensive
@dianemier53352 жыл бұрын
I went to the home improvement store and bought a sheet of 1 inch thick styrofoam insulation board for the base. If you make the arms just a bit less than 3 inches, you can get two couches out of a 4 foot by 8 foot sheet. Full sheet was just over $10. Much cheaper than the foam at the craft stores.

Hi Mikey, I love this pattern but need a sizing for a Jack Russell/Pug mix breed dog. My little baby has terrible hip arthritis! Can you help me with the sizing and the number of skeins?
@TheCrochetCrowd3 жыл бұрын
What you are requesting is a complete redesign including schematics for the foam that is used. I won't have that answer. You can email Yarnspirations and request their designs figure it out. If they do it, probably won't be available until next year though. Designs are usually 6 months to 12 months in development on yarnspirations.
@MinnieMay93 жыл бұрын
If you use a bigger hook and thicker yarn you could make this a bigger, but you'll have to then base the foam off how big your pieces turn out.
@dianagoldsack12993 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I’ll give them a try

So for some reason I cannot get this pattern to work for me. I am doing the couch cushions and I do the 12 slip stitches on the RS row, but moving over 12 stitches and then doing a DC to begin means that I should end on a DC but I can't because that row is SC. So I dont know if anyone else is having this issue or not.

Make it anyway if that's what you want to do. You could always turn it into a conversation piece by adding dolls or even a stuffed animal onto it. If you have any young children in the family it could be used as a toddler seat. Don't limit yourself just because you don't have a fur baby. Have fun and crochet just because you want to.

Thanks for sharing this again! I made the original one and was confused by the couch cushion gussets. Those don't seem to be included in the pattern pictures. It made the cushions extra tall so that they are nearly equal height of the arm rests. Do you suggest to just sew cushion part A and part B together directly and not bother with the gussets? Appreciate your help!
@TheCrochetCrowd3 жыл бұрын
The gussets were never used in the original sample and shouldn't have been used. Sew the Part A and B together as you mentioned. Skip the gussets. It was originally designed in but taken out probably for the smart reasons you mentioned.

It doesn’t say anywhere but is this American terminology or English ? Asking as an English crocheter
@TheCrochetCrowd3 жыл бұрын
We are Canadian, both Yarnspirations and The Crochet Crowd. We use North American (USA) terminology. I assume your use of English that you are from the UK. It's too hard to bounce between UK and USA Terminology as our content will be mixed. As a Canadian, I learned UK crochet and did so up until my early 30's. Michael

In our ABOUT section on KZbin, it does state that we are using North American Terms. I'm unsure if other hosts put that information there as well.

I kinda laugh at that as well but in the world of crochet, everything here is rectangle or squares. Intermediate happens when the crochet item starts shaping or doing cables or more.
