The bridge was inaugurated in 1971 by Babu Jagjeevanram, defence minister govt of India, he died on very next day of Mandavi Bridge Tragedy ,age of bridge was16 years in 1986, . In a school essay on topic "मांडवी पुल दुर्घटना" instead writing in words , a student had drawn a sketch of collapsed bridge with title "आजोबा आदी नातू गेला" 😢😅
