Generally New York to Los Angeles, most goods are not sent through Panama canal. For that, land trucking from New York to Los Angeles is much cheaper. Do not forget that ship passing through Panama canal is charged very high tariff. From New York, the goods sent to China, Japan, and Korea use Panama Canal.
