Ah yes, getting familiar with your new area is important! It can be amazing how different pricing can be. Isn't it weird that grocery stores don't want you to film? The city looks wonderful and warm - my kind of place!

Thanks. Making progress with words and basic phrases. Always “try” at restaurants and other public places to speak Spanish. We’ve had a nice time in Panama, but it has gone by so fast. Awesome trip to Boquete last week, which is very different from Panama City. And there will be more cheese in the next video. 🤣 John and Bev

I laughed at John running across Panama. I do similar pre-planned funny things, too. One of mine was for my birthday we went to Vegas, so I could race an exotic car on a road track. Before we went to the track, we stopped at the Hello Kitty truck right after we landed at the airport. My first Facebook post was a picture of me in front of Hello Kitty saying, "This wasn't what I had in mind for my birthday!" I had been thinking of it for weeks. Panama City looks great!

HI...Enjoyed your video. I was born in Colon_Canal Zone Brat. The few family from Colon left and all living in Panama City with some here in the US. It was good to hear some of the prices there. I have not visited since I was 15-yrs old now 73. I hope still to visit before I go away & almost think of living in David. My relatives mostly keep touch with my sisters. I heard they have places like Sam's Club & Costco with a different name. If I lived there would join for sure. I'm diffidently a bargain shopper & look for best low prices . I look forward to seeing more of your travels and maybe another video in Panama. Thanks for sharing your fun.

Funny your video until they got to the drugs. This sad reality of such expensive medicines is due to the fact that only five companies distribute and market medicines in Panama, which is a monopoly or a mafia, apart from that, they themselves create false shortages in the social security fund, thus forcing them to make more expensive direct purchases As you can see, it is a kidnapping. There should be real freedom when anyone who can bring the medicine does it, so maybe this abuse will end
@RetirementTravelers2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the note. In the United States we pay $500 for the same drug we paid only $80 in Panama. Panama prescriptions are much cheaper than the US, so not sure I understood your comment. Hope you have a great day. John and Bev
