This was very interesting, as I had no idea Panama City is such a large city, with many high-rise condominium buildings. Friends who have stayed in Panama City have shared with me that there is a terrible smell in the bay (like sulfur), and people cannot swim in the bay because they will sink. I'm not sure this is correct.

I don’t know about the bay but there’s no smell for sure, the old town is quite charming
