Totally Epic Steve. Great video and grueling hike. Josh gets a Gold Star. Hilarious I thought I'd do that alone. Steve is a top dog thru hiker and the video is a must watch for anyone thinking about heading up and over. Thanks Steve for all your work and sharing the details. ✌️

Great stuff! I've been up Panamint Pass from both sides and up to the saddle between Hall and Surprise. I've been way up above the cabin in Hall in a couple directions. There's some interesting stuff to the south a mile or so above the cabin and then about three miles up the main fork there's more stuff. HOWEVER, I have not explored the connector trail between Hall and Surprise. When I was at Hungry Bills I tried an apple and it didn't have a lot of flavor and the texture was a little woody. BTW, on my website I have a picture of the shack that was up on the saddle between Hall and Surprise taken in 2004.

Very cool to hear about your experiences in the Panamints. There is some stuff up Hall Canyon I was asked to leave out but with the limited daylight hours it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

I thoroughly loved this production for the cinematography, narration, and soundtrack. I assume that having Josh along helped speed up your camera work saving some of the back and forth set ups. I got a huge kick out of you two munching on the apples and pairs from Hungry Bill’s orchard. My last visit to Panamint City I slept well in a hammock hung up on the porch of The Panamint Hilton while I heard the pack rats crunching below and around the cabin. What a pleasure to document the abundance of water in The Panamints this year. One suggestion might be to re-weigh your packs at the end of your adventures for comparison? Was so good to see you back in the park and hope your return again in 2025!

What an arduous adventure Steve, I could feel your pain after that 14 hour day! I would totally rock one of your DV hats. I assume you know someone that does embroidery?
