Great informative video! I've done tons of VCR's in my past days as a tech, but never a DAT deck. Looks familiar, though.

Hello, I have a SV DA10 and error rate is between 0-30 approximately when playing. Is it well serviced then? There are rare peaks around 50-60. Tipically 0-30.

Hi, could you help to me ? i got a panasonic sv-3800, the tape run, play, foward and reverse , no error code, but no sound, what could it be ? thanks in advance.

You need an oscilloscope, for starters

@@edaudio Ty.. I have one.. and I followed your video.. now there's sound but almost between 30 to 60 errors per second... could be end or beginning of the head end life? Thanks for your reply.

I'd have to see it, but maybe your problem is pinch roller pressure - if the pinch is hard it may have shrunk - and those machines have clutch issues.

@@CharlyGrand without a scope, it's impossible to know. There are many more things that can cause errors than "just" the heads.

@@CharlyGrand also, if you have errors reported but no distortion, you're good.

@@Audi.RS3 hard to find. You can do it with a known good tape. The tricky part is PG delay, but if you set the beginning of the envelope to the swp transition it will be very close

That music is incredibly distracting

It's not very loud. The music in my other video is quite sedate, by comparison
