Great camera but i’m having a problem where if I film a train with a very obviously bright blue livery on it, the video makes it appear aqua or almost greenish (it alters colours of other things sometimes too.) Is there a specific setting you recommend to get the most accurate colour possible for certain times of day/levels of light? or even just in general?

Hello, let's see if you can answer me this question. I have a panasonic 180 and when I want to focus on a very close element with the maximum zoom and it does not focus, I have a macro option. touching this icon on the screen gets me to focus on the subject. I would like to know if this VF1 model has that possibility. Or if the approach without her is enough. Thanks

Hello. Thank for the video. It was most helpful. I recently purchased the HC-VXF1, which is the same camera with a viewfinder. I'm happy with it so far, but one minor irritation is the sound, similar to a mechanical shutter, when I turn the camcorder on or off. Is there any way to stop this sound? I'm mainly interested in nature photography and any unnatural sound can alarm my subject. Thanks.

Where on Earth are 4K60 camcorders at the ~£600 mark?! I've been waiting for a 4K60 camcorder around this price range for about 8 years now. But every year all any of these companies seems to do is rebrand their 4K30 again! The Sony AX-53 came out very late 2015 / early 2016, which in itself was a refresh of the AX-33. Are Sony really saying they have no better sensor and processor to make a new camcorder in 2020? So what do Sony do? They remove the EVF from the the AX-53, call it the AX-43 and then charge the same price as what you can already pick up the AX-53 for anyway! Why is 4K60 taking so long to arrive at a non-pro price point? Phones and GoPros have been doing 4K60 for years and in many cases have even moved from this to 4K120 and 8K30. When are we going to see Panasonic or Sony bring this to ~£600 price point? HC-VX2 or AX-63? They wouldn't even need to spend that much money developing them either, they could keep the lens and OIS and body and everything else the same, just update the sensor and processors to give us 4K60 using H.265. There is no technical reason they can't, heat has nothing to do with it as I said phones and action cameras have done it for years and have a much tighter power/heat envolope to work within. What annoys me most is all these companies keep crying out that 'phones are stealing all their customers' but then they are so slow to give us new features such as 4K60. Phones come out every single year and move things on significantly every single year, so is it really a surprise customers forget amount them? For my use-case which is filming low league football, handheld, pitch side you do need a proper dedicated camcorder because the image stabilisation is much better on these than it is on a larger sensor mirrorless camera plus the fast electric zooming and super fast focusing is very much needed too. I just wish someone brought out 60fps version because I often need to slow down clips for goals or fouls, a 4K60 version of the AX43 or HC-VX1 would be a perfect camcorder.

I think the dreaded smartphone has a lot to answer for on this subject (and many others). For the same price you can have a smartphone which is mediocre at everything (and not particularly great at anything). They make those and people buy them in their billiones and then never buy anything else. So after a while nobody botheres making anything else, and purpose built high performance devices no longer exist. We all lose!!
@Speak_Out_and_Remove_All_Doubt
@Speak_Out_and_Remove_All_Doubt 3 жыл бұрын
@@Springer5 I know what you mean but I do think there is room for a proper camcorder in the market. To film stuff well you need something more than a phone but full frame mirrorless cameras aren't set up to film fast moving stuff like a football game and you actually don't really want the narrow depth of field either, not to mention camcorders have better zoom range, powered smooth zoom, better image stability, no overheating issues, etc. The annoying thing is it wouldn't be much work for them in update the cameras either, they don't need to change the body, optics, screen, etc just the sensor and processor.

Having AC adapter to power the camera is excellent, but can it also power from an external powerbank for longer recording, which can be important for time-lapse all day or all night?

That's a great idea. I just tried it and it seems to work. The provided cable is a USB cable on the adaptor side so is just plugged into the power bank. The charging light turns on and I am able to use it on the power bank power only. Good thinking.
@artistjoh
@artistjoh 4 жыл бұрын
ehabweb Excellent. Thank you for trying it out. So we both can look forward to that option. Could also be important for filming an event by putting in a higher GB SD card, power bank, and leave it for say 4 hours with confidence. Hopefully it supports 256GB cards. Unfortunately it is not a given as some cameras are limited to 128. My AX53 supports 256, but the external power is limited to the AC charger which ties it to nearby power outlets which is not always available.

@ehabweb
@ehabweb 5 жыл бұрын
It doesn't do too well in very low light, especially with the black walls. The camera will automatically add decibels of noise to the image, and you will clearly see the black walls almost pixelized, while other lighter objects will seem washed. So probably not good in that low of a light. As for showing movie clips, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do it in your home theatre room since the camera has hdmi output. There are three things I would check: 1) Could be firmware/Software update? search for the model number and firmware 2)Regional version (mine is North American) and I had heard that the European version has some different capabilities 3) A dependency on some other setting, I have seen that sometimes menu options are not available based on the resolution or recording mode, but usually the option is just disabled, not entirely gone.
