Hello, great review, thanks. I'm wondering, when using the built-in mic, is there any audible recorded noise from the auto focus motor on this camera? The constant quiet annoying clicking? (I also asked this on your Canon G20/30 reviews, it's a big concern for me with camcorders, thanks!)

The focus with the HC-X920 is electronic, so will be extremely silent, while the internal mics isn't?t that sensitive. So, the sound of the camera focusing during video will not be picked up. *Christina* [e-mail]

Dear B&H I'm currently between choosing either the Panasonic hc-x920 or Canon VIXIA HF G20, so what is the best out of these two in terms of shooting in low-light condition? I'm planning to visit Tokyo in January and I would like to capture neon lights at night.

Of this total size, the camera uses approximately a 1/4" portion of the entire sensor to accommodate Panasonic's existing prism system. This means the effective sensor size for the camera is approximately 1/4". This effective size yields a 35mm equivalent focal length of 29.8 to 399.2mm. Trying to decide between the 770 and the x920, I have both from Amazon and am trying to make a choice. They are 29.5 and 29.8 mm wide, however the x920 is noticeably wider, so I don't believe their marketing specs. Currently have the TM90 which has been a great camcorder with a 1/4" sensor. Comments appreciated.

Does anyone have any idea of a shoe adapter for the SONY PJ790 handycam? Although Sony have 'thoughtfully' upgraded their hot shoes to standard shoe sized multi-interface shoes from the former AiS shoes, they have regretfully embedded them in the camera body so 3rd party mice & lights still need some sort of adapter bounce shoe to attach to the camera. ANY information on something that would do the trick would be grateful. I don't want to use brackets as they are cumbersome.

Given that you need a longer zoom, the Canon HFG30 would be my recommendation. Invest in a solid monopod or tripod as well. I have had my HC-X920 for about a year and have not been able use in much. I have had a problem with recording video to SD Card. All settings seem to be correct. SD card is a Scan Disk Extreme Plus SDXC UHS-I Card U3 4K 64 Gig 80 MS/S. I can record to internal memory but not to card. I would like to do a total reset or reboot of the settings but can't find how to do it either. No important videos on camera now.

I'am in the market for new prosumer camcorders (yes plural) voor studio tutarial making for my students. Witch is good investment the pan X920 or the canon HF30 or the XA10. As you know in education budget is limited so canon XF 305 etc is no option Thnx for your answer

Thank you. I feared that it would require a double-decker approach. I yesterday confirmed that UN (A Japanese accessories manufacturer has an adapter in development. I urged the Tokyo based large retailer and I urge yourselves to pressure SONY to stop making their handycam shoes difficult to use with normal cold shoe sized accessories. They could easily have raised the multi-interface shoe to allow more access from the rear. A waste considering that the MIS can accommodate standard sized shoes.

All Panasonic camera, (consumer and PRO) are likely to shoot a “GREENISH” footage, that's the main reason I stop buying Panasonic Camcorders, color never accurate, while on the other hand their Mirror-less Camera like the G6 or the GH4 are more natural/accurate color.
