Hey thanks for taking the time & "effort" to make and post your video..interesting and helpful as have TM-K and have not taken time to explore all the options..as a note found on Eba a great extra battery Lenmar LIZ304P for around $30..lasts about 20 minutes longer and actually seems to fit camera better than original

@eluko79 I was hand-holding the camera in the passenger seat which took out a lot of the bigger bumps. However I am still impressed with the OIS. Also, I bought the wide-angle converter for $200 which expands the fov to about 85 degrees. It does introduce barrel distortion, but I like it and it does not seem to reduce image sharpness at all. Unfortunately the showest timelapse mode is 1 frame per second (30x) which is faster than your videos, so you'll still have to record real-time.

@Kepkaaa I don't see why it would not. It has a standard tripod mount and is not irregularly shaped.

Thanks for the great video. I imagine that it took you a really long time to put together. This video is really good as a tutorial of the camera's features. Love it.

@bastian74 ....I originally thought about the larger size but since I am 63 and most of my videos seem to be only 3-15 minutes at most just wanted a backup..the Lenmar LIZ304P charges with the Panasonic charger and shows minutes remaining and so on..saw them on Amazon.com where I purchased the camera and they did not stock this particular one but have used them with other video and still camera I have owned over the last 20+ years..

I use Cyberlink Powerdirector 10. It supports 1080 50P, however bluray/youtube does not. So it works well if you're watching on a computer / home theater pc. Otherwise, you have to render to 720 50P or 1080 50i

@Radiorah100 Thanks for the feedback. I still want to demo a few other features like macro capability, skin softness mode (hard to see) white balance auto detection, 60p reduced to slow motion and perhaps a walk through the menu. Enjoy the camera, I take it everywhere in the case that came with my Nikon external flash. :) This camera and my SLR flash are the same size almost!

@eluko79 I found that post-processing image stabelization worked very well on in-car timelapse videos as well. OIS is less useful for timelapse since it smoothens out camera movement, which will look jerky again in fast playback. See my other videos for a comparison. OIS will prevent motion blur and post processing stabelization will keep it smooth.

@MegaPsychoDave Core2 Duo 2.5ghz. It takes probably 45 min to render 10 minutes of video at 1080i. I would suggest a i5 or i7 quad as well as a CUDA/Stream video card.
@EricJaakkola14 жыл бұрын
@MegaPsychoDave In the default quality at 60i four minutes is 380 megs. Since this video was re-rendered in PowerDirector8 the size may be slightly different than stock. The size of this video was 1.25GB

Thanks for the video you really helped me out. I was pretty much sold on one of the Sony camcorders but really didn't want to spend that much. This camera really does everything the Sony does but foe several hundred dollars less. I love the quality of this camera. Thanks!

@gabrieldov Unfortunately there is no way to record or convert to 720p natively. HA is 1080i at 17mbps and it goes down to HE which is 5mbps. If you want 720p60 you'll have to record at 1080p and then use video editing software to trans-code to 720p. It's rather disappointing, I suppose the mfg thought if you were buying to TM700 you probably want it for 1080, though there is no player designed for 60P unless it's at 720 - so crap. That said, 1080p scaled to 720p probably looks really good

Thank you for making this informative film. I'm over all drawn to this camera. The one thing I think a higher end Sony might have over this one is two things: the image stabilization is just amazing and they still are better in low light situations. It's these two aspects that have me thinking of Sony, however there are things about this camera that are better than the Sony. Too bad we have to choose between features and that we just can't have it all in one camera.

@GR8WHITEC5 FYI, I chose this scene for its high dynamic range and constant motion so that you could see what effect the settings had on a "worst case scenario" for video.

Excellent video and very informative. I just ordered this camera over the Canon vixia g10 because I just couldn't justify the extra $700 just for a little better low light and a few other features. For the money I think this is still the best camcorder on the market. I ordered the one with the 280 gig hard drive, it was only $30 more than the SD version.

Great Video, which shows the strengths of this Camcorder. I just bought this camcorder and I have no regrets. The picture quality is incredible, clear crisp, sharp colors. The Immage Stabilization is superb. The Menu system is a little "tired" old fasioned looking, BUT easy to use and very functional, which is all you really need. The 5.1 surround sound is a fun asset to have. If you are considering this camcorder.. just buy it, you won't regret it.

One other aspect I wanted to add to my comment below. Some people have complained about hearing the cooling fan in the recording. I have tested this out and found that YES their is a fan noise... BUT the only way I was able to even find it, was to record in a room with no noise, play footage back on my surround sound system at almost 100%. So as far as I am concerned, this "fan noise" will never be heard in normal everyday recording. Do not let this be a determining factor n getting this camera

Things I missed that I plan to add: Macro, Face Detection (sucks), Skin Tone scene, 60P slowed down to 30P (plenty of examples already), Action shots with panning and zooming.

Thank you so much for producing a very informative review. You have helped me decide now on what to buy after narrowing it down to 2 camcorders. It was a toss up between the Canon s21 or this and after seeing this excellent review my mind is now made up and I will be purchasing onw very soon. Could you please let me know what size file was produced that you uploaded from the this review?

@fbi039 I bought the "Panasonic VW-VBG260 Equivalent Camcorder Battery" from Mallbox.net and it lasts about 5 hours! It sticks out the back about a centimeter but I don't mind. It also charges on the factory charger and the camera shows remaining battery time. Most 3rd party batteries are "dumb" and won't display usage on screen.

@bastian74 Dude I am loving this camera!!! It's very good and I love the manual functions though I have to grow into using them properly and on the fly. I feel like I have a professional tool....I have owned several consumer cams...all low end or middle of the pack machines...this is an upgrade from what I'm used to working with by far. You should get commission...lol And I am looking forward to those demos...
