Initially checking out the Panasonic KX-TGF350 DECT6.0 Cordless Phone with Digital Answering System. I can say that I can recommend this phone to you guys, because it had numerous amounts of useful features such as: Talking CallerID and Easy and Accessible Call Blocking function. For some reason, unfortunately the display on my unit's handset has some pixel issues, which I don't know what caused that and if I can fix it with a T-Tip tool. External baby monitor is pretty cool as the destination phone can remotely turn off the feature or talk back to the handset by pressing #0 and #1. The automated phone service for this is unfortunately in the base, so while you can use baby monitor on any base, these codes only work on compatible bases.

What would happen if battery saving mode was turned off while it was on backup power? Would it go blank immediately with no way to turn it back off?

The phone would easily turn back on when there's power in the "Battery Saver Mode" and yes, it does blank out but still works with the battery and the ringer does not change to a piezo-style ringer.
