I've got this bright red Panasonic RX-F3 in my room for many years. It began to give trouble at the function control, then it just stopped. The cassette still works, but there's no sound. It's got soft eject, ambiance, line-in and everything. I just want it working again, so I can use it to record tapes for my dad! Haven't got the time to do repairs on it, but I will soon!!

I have a Panasonic FM25 works great except for cassette belt is broken. Still works fine with cassette to ipod/cd etc.. adapters. I am currently using it for my PC speakers! Just because I can. lol

Wow, I can't believe my comment about picking up an FM-25 for $6 was 2 years ago! Cassette2Go you were ragging on me a little because I said it worked great but the cassette didn't work. Well I took it apart today and replaced the belt and it is playing cassettes just fine!

If you're handy, it probably just needs a belt replaced to make the cassette deck run.

I would like to point out that you can use a cassette to mp3 adapter on it and use it as retro way to get awesome sound from your mp3. Sure you still want to call it a bad deal? I've had the FM-25 hooked up to my MP3 and even had it hooked to my computer!

Ha ha I know, sorry I guess you didn't see my post above. I told the poster of this video I picked up an FM-25 for $6.00 asked if he thought it was a good buy (I know it is) He said no it was defiantly not a good buy because the cassette deck didn't work and it was worthless unless all you needed was a radio. I wasn't making fun of you Aiwa, I was messing with Cassette2Go for saying $6 is a horrible buy then denying your $10 offer. I looked at the radio you wanted $10 seems fair to me.

How much for the RX-F4? I have one but the radio stopped working. It comes on for a few seconds and then just static. Tape deck works great but no FM/AM which is what I really use it for.

I bought a Panasonic RX 25 because it takes 6 D size batteries as I was looking for a radio that would play a long time and I wanted a Boombox with D batteries in it versus the ones that take C batteries as the batteries hold more current then the C batteries do so that is why I picked the Panasonic RX 25 hope that helps

No. As you stated, the (cassette deck) is not working, so there is no way this could be considered perfect, or a good buy unless all you needed was a radio.

Just got a Panasonic SX - FM25 which i think replaced the SX - FM15 for $9.99! plus $9.99 for shipping. Yay! And I watched a few yt videos on it and it sounded incredible for an entry small boombox.

Love this video and thanks for making and sharing! I love vintage Panasonic and Sanyo mini boomboxes! I just bought 3 and I really want to collect and get all of these excellent boomboxes, but I don’t have skate. Lol! But I love them and want to get these before the prices go up and more ppl. become more interested in getting these boomboxes. Sanyo also made great boomboxes ! I was lucky to own the Sanyo M9994 when i was like 16 brand new. I only saw 2 other ppl. back then with the same boombox. It was on the cover of Malcolm McLaren’s Buffalo Girls album but all graffiti up from around 1984. It’s one of the top 10 boomboxes from that period. I just saw one on eBay and it was being sold for $3,000. It was expensive when it was new and I think it costed about $275. So in 4 decades, it went up 10X what it originally cost.

So what’s the difference btwn. the “”F” and the “RX”? Ones older or a higher end line? Also, I guess it’s better to find yye ones with the line in feature to be able to run other sources through the radio. Also my old Sanyo full side M9994 had a phono selections and would be able to plug a turntable and turn the setup into a fill in stereo bc it had a photo pre amp built in. My next boombox a Sony, I thought all boomboxes were able to run turntables and I found out they didn’t.

But there were so many and I need to do my research to get the ones that are the better models. But when I heard the RX FM25, it sounded incredible. So I also ordered the RX FM 27 which I think was the higher model and came with auto reverse.

Is it for sale? That was my favorite box radio as a teenager. I accidentally fried mine with the wrong voltage adapter. It was nothing more than a fancy paperweight after that.

the equalization helps any radio in it sound however the Sanyo has a warmer sound then the Panasonics with a brighter sound 2 my ears. also I have discovered that the Sanyo radios are more difficult to replace the drive belt for the cassette deck in them vs the Panasonic models

Can the panasonic RX-F4 play music from an aux cord?

No it is not Possible to do so from a Aux as this does not have a dedicated line-in but it does have 2 mono 3.5mm mic inputs so you could try to push a signal through the mic inputs to recording onto the cassette and hope that you can hear something? ( This does not exist panasonic rx 20L ) You must mean a Panasonic RX-F20L as this is the European version while I have the Panasonic RX-F20 & one with the box, so I have 2, both are cream colored. Yes these sound very good for their size.

Ok, well how much are you asking for your FM-25 $6.00? If $6.00 is just a terrible terrible price since the cassette doesn't work. I haven't even really messed with it yet. It may be fixable who knows. It sounds awesome. But come on who is gonna buy something like that to use all the time? They buy it for the retro look, it may just sit on a shelf and not even have the radio used.
