Great shots, I'm thinking about upgrading from my old GH4 of 4 years to this bad boy. I rarely use autofocus and I'm quite used to this micro HDMI port. This will probably become my main content creation cam.

Great review! I upgraded from the GH5 and the S5 has so much better low light performance that I was blown away. I use the 24-105 lens and it works great.

@@Jaymino_ I would upgrade if you have the money for sure. The low light performance by itself makes it worth it and when you combine the shallower depth of field and slightly better stabilization you can't go wrong. I use mine for travel video and even with just the one lens I have found it covers all my needs. Good luck!

Yes, the lack of batteries for this camera is a little annoying. It's one of the reasons why I couldn't yet use it on any paid job. Still waiting for the batteries to be released.

@@aman681 Hi. I have the 20-60mm and the Sigma 45mm. Its not Canon category in terms of Autofocus, but I can manage. It is no the worst either. I think one can easily track a subject with the touch screen and maintain focus that is workable.

I am curious how the focus will be now with the latest update, and shooting action sports, like mountain biking. my plan is to get this camera, and have it with me on rides, and shoot other riders on group rides. but so far the camera seems to be a good allrounder. which is what I need. I think the screen is a deal-breaker with some other cameras, so S5, and canon are only options in this price class it seems.

@@bebosanguine for me it's a Z Cam E2 F6 (or S6) , but these may not fit your use case. Even with a cage and hdmi cable lock I've had micro hdmi ports get damaged, leaving me without a monitor feed when I needed it.

Got the S5 after watching this video and holy cow! This camera shoots such beautiful images! The micro HDMI is a bit worrying, but that really is my only gripe with the camera other then the cropped 60fps.

I thought all the reviews and company adverts for the new Fuji XH2 S at $2.5k were a great advertisement for the S5. Left my XT3 and glass and got into the S line and L glass for the first time. S5 seems to be a solid hybrid camera - looking forward to using it in real estate business.

Hello Tom 🙂 Hoping you're doing well! Just wanted to seek your suggestions please. While shooting on Lumix S5, which colour profile do you use? What's the recommended colour profile for photography and video? (How does it differ from using flat over V-Log or HLG?) Also, I got to understand that the base ISO and higher ISO values vary based on the colour profile (as told by Lumix India support team). I presumed it was ISO 640 and ISO 4000 for all modes, but just wanted to know from your experience, if there's any difference by colour profile 🙂 Cheers from Bangalore, India ✨💫

It's the nicest manual focusing of any focus by wire lens that I've used, and better than a number of non focus by wire lenses I have. I don't really have any issues manual focusing with it.

If you are looking for a camera to do purely film type of work then the Zcam S6 or even better the F6 (full frame). But if you also need a camera for more run and gun type of work where a stabilized sensor is helpful and also ability to take great photos then the Panasonic S5

@@LucaBono.Studio I actually went for the Z Cam E2 S6 and I couldn't be happier with it. I'm still a Panasonic fan, but Z Cam is just next level. The look I'm getting off that sensor is gorgeous and the form factor is a revelation to me. Box cameras for the win!

Even though I would prefer the 24-105, I'd probably go with the S5. The S1 does not have that much more to offer or even less in some areas, so to me the bulk and weight would not be worth it, unless of course you prefer that beefy body.

Full size HDMI ports break too. If you want to use an external recorder for ANY camera but a cage. Don't stress the hot shoe or HDMI port. If you break your camera because you did nothing to protect it whose fault is that?

Thanks. Unfortunately I don't have any control about the ads placed on the video. I could turn them off completely which would make no difference for me since I make almost nothing from all that advertising they place on the videos, but I notice once I turn of the ads then KZbin doesn't show the video to anyone. So in order to at least get the video to show up in some people's feed I need to leave it on. Sorry!

Only Phase AF is missing. The video in AF-C is still pumping like the G9 or S1... Contrast AF only isn't up to date. But biside of thus its a great camera... like a G9 just FF and great low light performance. Why Panasonic why? Filming in MF is good but VLOG alone is a real challenge.

The 4K 60p crop is a deal breaker. Why would I pay $2k for a full frame camera only to be stuck with APS-C in 40K 60p? That plus the poor lens selection and bad AF system are a no go. Id be more tempted to get a G9. Cheaper, way more lenses and its a better still camera.

But with a terrible low resolution outdated EVF and that slight delay implementing user inputs which is very frustrating and should not be in a camera in 2021. Panasonic really shouldn’t have released the S5 with these disappointments. Regardless of how good moving and still images are from the S5, it’s EVF and stuttering interface is a deal breaker for me at least.

He hasnt 14 stops... near 12. We saw test. 12, 13 and 14 stops swim in noise... Also as we saw S1H has better picture quality. I dont know ehy, but... Also S1H has better stab. Yes, s1h cost much money. Just stop declarate things like 'THE SAME AS S1H'
