Thanks, very useful info,I have the VXF990,which is very similar to your WXF1 but without the twin camera feature,I usually just remove the SD card and insert it into the SD reader on my Lenovo laptop, but as you say ,useful way to download content to hard drive if you have'nt got a laptop with you Alan

I'm glad you found this useful. This is one of those features not mentioned in the advertising. I just stumbled upon it in the detailed user guide and it works very well. I did also discover the drive can plug into my laptop and files are visible. So it could be useful. Thanks for watching.

@@WaybackRewind How do you get on with 4k video, have you used it much yet ? I have to admit I have'n't,I took my VXF to Scotland last year and did quite a bit reccrding but in 1080 ,when played back on a 4k 50in TV it looks really good,I think the video is upscaled to 4k by the TV automatically.4k is more problematic to edit I believe ,so I normally use 1080.I had a 128gb card in the camcorder , in 1080 there is oceans of space on it,less of course for 4k video

@@alanvanallen7762 I personally started recording exclusively in 4K since 2016 on my phone. I put a 512GB card in my phone and never looked back. This is why I was so disappointed that the WXF1 has so many features unsupported by 4K. I have other 4K cameras but this was my first 4K camcorder. In my humble opinion you should always record in the highest possible quality.
