Pancakes & Eggs with Pete Wentz!

On today's episode of Dad Dinner, Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz joins Ryan in the kitchen to make one of the hits- Breakfast for Dinner! Pete and Ryan chat all things from raising teenagers to reminiscing about when Ryan danced in a mascot costume at one of Pete's shows. They also admit that this is the second time we filmed this episode and you'll see why the first was unusable. Enjoy!
Recipe: Breakfast for Dinner
Ingredients:
Eggs
Pancake mix
Water / milk
Maple Syrup
Butter
Directions:
Read the instructions on the pancake mix box. (Seriously.)
Then measure your pancake mix into a mixing bowl and add either milk or water, whichever the box suggests. Thoroughly mix the batter together.
Heat a frying pan or griddle pan over medium heat and add butter to the surface (not avocado oil like Ryan did.) Then drop your batter onto the heated and greased surface and make as many pancakes as needed.
Add butter and syrup to the pancakes if your kiddos like!
Then, in the same pan or a similar non-stick pan, grease the pan with either olive oil, avocado oil or butter, and crack an egg onto the pan. If you want a sunny side up egg, cover with a pan lid so the egg slightly steams and cooks, then use a spatula to transfer to a plate. Crack some fresh pepper and a little bit of salt over the egg. If you want to make an over-easy egg, crack an egg on to the pan and once the white begins to set, use a spatula to scoop under the egg and gently flip, trying not to puncture the yolk. After a moment, flip the egg back over and then transfer to a plate.
