Excellent work. Dedication of each person involved, care towards each aspect of the end result shows. I am from Odisha, and some of the Charyapadas were written by Mahasiddhas from Odisha. Odisha & Nepal had extremely close links owing to their common belief in Buddhism - especially Vajrayana, Acharyas from both lands frequented each other and to this day, the Nepal king is highly respected in the Jagannatha temple. Charya music & dance have since become extinct in Odisha due to Anti-Buddhist rulers from the 13th century onwards, but traces of Buddhism still survive as ever. Very glad that the form has survived in Nepal; no less than a fortune to be able to behold this incredible conceptualisation of our ancients. Unsurprisingly one is able to understand most of the lyrics due to close proximity with Odia (both in terms of vocabulary and pronunciation), but perhaps not everyone can. Small suggestion : Please add subtitles both in the original script and an English translation. Understanding the song itself will open up multiple layers of meaning to a much wider audience. I realise they can be cryptic at times, but please do try. All the best to the team. :)

Glad to know about the interconnection between Nepal and Odisha. You words are valuable for us. Much appreciated. 🙏 We will definitely try to add subtitles. Thank you 🙂

Over 5000 yrs ago, Raja Prachanda Deva of Odia/ Odisha having heard of the divine flame in Nepala bequeathed his Kingdom to his son and travelled to Nepala and having been ordained in Vajrayana under the tutelage of the disciple of Maha Manjushri, was thenceforth named Santi Shri Gurubacharya and lived & preached in Nepala in the sacred Stupa of Swoyambhu Nath where there still exists a 'pur' known as Santipu where he attained 'nirvana'. Yes, Nepal & Odisha have a long-standing relationship. Glad you liked the presentation.

I learned Arya-Tara charya dance when I was a kid in school and there is an obvious difference in the dance steps as it was an Arya-Tara Charya and this is a Panchakapaal Charya, Mahakaal is all pervasive entity and annhilator of the all elements and even time itself, Mahakaal figuratively destroys everything, but in reality, this action is essential for the continuum of the cycle of creation and annhilation. Mahakaal is an absolute truth and to my view, a symbolic representation of Impermanence/Anitya (Anicca in pali) as mentioned in several Buddhist cannonicals. Charya nritya has its own spiritual space in Vajratantras and Vajrayana and is no-less than a Sadhana. Many Indian scholars are claiming that Charya Nritya was eveloved in Bengal and other adjacent regions of modern India, however the reality being, Charya is exclusive only to the ancient Vajrayana practitioners of Nepal mandal (Kathmandu Valley). Charya dancer embodies the gyan, pragya and sila of tathagata and other protectors, Charya is unique to the age-less traditions of Vajrayana Buddhist practitioners of Kathmandu and I think, cultural renaissance is really needed among both Hindu and Buddhist practitioners so as to preserve the ancient/traditional lineage of practice as guided in sevaral Newa texts and treatise and not solely by the books published by Banarasi pandits with foreign flavours and fervours. This Charya Nritya team deserves much wider audience and recognition among Nepali youths, because this dance has both spiritual and patriotic (in hindsight) elements as this represents (once esoteric) knowledge practiced by Vajrayana Mahapandits of Nepal Mandal (Kathmandu). My gratitude and respect to the team. 🙏🙏🙏

Every region with human existence have designed beautiful forms of art. It gets diluted with time and space. The effort put into gathering accurate information about the construction of such art and even better, guarding the art from fading into oblivion requires a lot of challenges to be surpassed. Some times it is our very own people who don't think seeing future in such art is either lucrative or financially liberating. However the challenges may be, the Nepali people have safeguarded this art and I have nothing but my standing ovation to offer. Great work, beautifully projected. Enjoyed every bit of it.
