There's a lore reason behind Super Mutants being resistant to crotch-related trauma...in the first game you find out that Super Mutants are sterile, due to the Forced Evolutionary Virus "correcting damaged DNA", aka chromosomes. In fact, in the first game, if you deliberately target a Mutant's groin, they will taunt you and inform you the groin is not a weak spot. Also in Fallout 1 there is unique combat text for damaging a female NPCs groin, my favorite being "She takes it like a man. That is to say, it hurts."

At least that's kinda what the logs in the first game say "removes secondary sex characteristics" and even the master knows it doesn't destroy the genitalia Additionally there is apparently a distinction between the 2 with supermutants in 2 still having sexual desires. Really it's just the east cost super mutants that become asexed

The problem with Thuggy's mods (Diary of a Madman, Outcasts & Remnants, etc) is that they're very technically well done, with a lot of good voice acting and effort put into them, but also really poorly written, immature, and edgy. They all quickly lead to power fantasies and OP loot, which can be fun but they take themselves way too seriously. The author also has some very radical opinions on the major factions and forces the main character to agree with them when you start the mods
