Okay, the yogurt thing is super easy! I make some at home by using a scoop of store-bought yogurt in heated milk, that I leave in an insulated cooler overnight to culture and refrigerate in the morning. It's almost like magic! And it's really common to make at home actually. The yogurt setting probably works similarly by keeping the dairy and culture at the right temp for the right time. Don't be afraid to look into it!

I am Chinese and I make yogurt at home with the same idea and it works every time... although somehow I leave it in the rice cooker overnight😁

I never accept the join mills put in the yarn when spinning it. I always cut it out and rejoin, then weaving in the ends for that very reason. I've had the same thing happen. Love the panda sweater. When ever I find a pattern in a book that I use, I photo copy it and then it lives in the project bag with the project.

I also like using really hot water for blocking. Not because of sterilising or getting it extra clean, I just feel like it gets the yarn nice and fluffed up and super soft. And I’m right there with you about casting on! At this stage of my life (stay at home mom of a four year old and newborn twins) I really don’t have the head space to cast on lots of stuff but I do rely on knitting to keep my hands busy and my mind calm. Socks and hats have been my go to. Back when knitting was a newer hobby for me I had a lot of cast-on-itis, just because of the novelty of it all. I wanted to try all the yarns and to have all the knits and now that I’ve made all the knits I’ve truly become a process knitter.

Make the yogurt!!! I’ve been making it for years - the instant pot makes it extra easy but even just letting it ferment in mason jars in a cooler is super easy. You honestly can’t mess it up - nature does all the work for you! I let mine ferment for at least 24 hours for the best gut health. ❤️

There are some great bread machine cookbooks out there... One of my favorites is The Bread Machine Cookbook, Donna Rathmell German - you can likely find it used online. Also, the dough setting on your machine is a lot of fun - pizza, brioche, baguettes etc.

I hope you stick with your homemade bread journey. It's totally worth. I've been making bread for 4 years now. I absolutely love the taste..so much so that I can't even eat store bought anymore. It tastes awful to me now. My bread machine broke from over use so now I have a stand mixer which has so many more uses. Good luck.

Great video as always! As for the more home made goods, I'm here for that as well! My daughter is 2 months younger than Arthur and I prefer making as much things myself instead of store bought. Pre pregnancy I had a sourdough starter that survived for 2 years but unfortunately it did not survive when we moved and I left it in the fridge unfed for 3 months. We loved that bread and could devour a whole loaf in 1 day lol. Makes me motivated make a starter again! Also love the woolyknit cones! Just ordered them recently (cried when I saw the tax afterwards) and the merino both NSW and SW are a joy to work with. The superwash version has still kind of a rustic feel to it, knitting up a sweater for my toddler right now.

You could just take a photo of the instructions in your Laine magazine. That way you’d have a backup if you’re out and about without the paper copy.

30:39 I think the issue with the Zauberball might be the striping. Andrea's hand spun wasn't so stripy. I think she knit a Harlow hat, which is brioche

Lovely video!! Adore your personality and the non-knitting tangents. I'm currently making the Champagne Cardigan by PetiteKnit. It's my first double knit button band and it's taking me a loooong time. I've also been on an Oslo Hat kick, but the two I've made have been gift knits. Thinking of making myself a mohair one sometime. Hoping to make a project from one of the Sandnes Garn magazines I bought a few months ago. Also most likely going to make a cabled sweater. The thing I do to love my bread machine bread more is to do it on the dough cycle and shape it into a loaf pan and bake it in the oven. So much better than cooking it in the bread machine.

I 'm here with home made yoğurt recepe. Here in Turkey all families makes yoğurt at home its very easy. You need to milk and 1 or 2 table spoon yoğurt. Boil the milk and let it cool in corner. But not too cool, here we use to put our little finger in milk a little to feel the temparature. If you dont feel a need to remove your finger like for 5 - 6 seconds you can pour the 2 tb spoon yoğurt in it annd that is it. Just live it there in room temp for one day lid closed, you have home made yoğurt. (personal advise if you use home made yoğurt to fermantate the yoğurt it tastes better. I know for the first time its impossible but the neighborhood may help for that 🤷‍♀️)

I’m having a hard time starting my sour dough starter. I applaud you! Fried ravioli, get a frozen bag of ravioli (I use the cheese one) dip into flour, then egg, then bread crumbs. Fry until golden brown. My boys, when they were little, loved these. Had to make them 3 to 4 times a week! For sourdough discard, use it to make pancakes, bread sticks and flap jacks. Hope this helps! Bethany, ever go to the alps during Christmas time? I seen a documentary on it and fell in LOVE with the German and Swiss alps at Xmas time. 😊 😊 😊

Love your video (as always) ❤ As far as homemade foods go, I like chocolate soufflé. It’s quick and easy, healthier than brownies, and the batter can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking. Soft pretzels are another favorite. Much easier than expected and can be dressed up (sea salt, cheese dip, cinnamon sugar, etc)

Oh no ! Making yoighurt is the easiest thing ever ! (Technically it is just warm milk and ferments cooling down reeeeaaaally slow) i hate yoghurt but my mom loves it and always has a dozen of her making in the fridge !

Love all your projects! I didn't get my baby’s Christmas sweater done in time, AND I decided to rip out the bottom ribbing and add a few mote inches of length because he’s such a tall boy already. Yogurt or kefir is an amazing thing to make at home! Warm yogurt or kefir is even yummier than you can imagine. You will spoil a few batches here and there - but from my experience you will be able to tell immediately by the consistency and visual product. Don't be intimidated by it. Xoxo from Alaska!

I’d be very leery about showing children’s faces on the internet. I’m fine with Bethany not showing lil man’s face. More protections, the better. All children need to be safe as can be. 😊
