Maybe, if the rap artists stop living what they are rapping and learn other areas of the music business, they would fare even better and maybe, live to old age! I am not antisemitic, and you may not be, either! Your comment sure was! Are you aware the entertainment business was looked down on by the mainstream? For the record Cuban is on video flat out saying “I’m Black Too”. It was during the bang bang boogie era. The interviewer asked him about being in a group with black dudes & he said that without hesitation. He didn’t front & wasn’t pandering for the camera. I always saluted him for saying that on camera. If you really listen to Cubans verses he lets you know he grew up in black culture. He always puts something in there to let you know he’s official about the black dna he has. If you listen to his verse on “Tell Me” he begins his flow in the cadence of “don’t look any further” by Dennis Edwards. A lot of people didn’t catch that. If you notice he keeps making a clear distinction between the Afro-Latinos (me, pun & seis) in the crew & Joe.
@pandachopnewsКүн бұрын
Well Cubans have African blood through the slave trade so he knows that but he also respects that black people may feel a way about Latinos in NY saying the N word even though that’s the culture
@djmack1nyКүн бұрын
@@pandachopnewsI’m stating this because some people may think Cuban is fronting. I know he’s not. I also grew up in Old School NY…so I already know what time it is with latin’s and that word. Secondly my dad is Black/Dominican & My Mom is Black/Puerto Rican. I’m well versed on all 3 cultures & heritage. Him being Cuban is a formality being that it’s just another stop on the voyage.
@lorenzbeaumacc1175Күн бұрын
@@pandachopnews what I would argue tho is that I feel like u have more cubans and puerto ricans (not dominicans) acknowledging their african blood than black americans. Some blackamericans do but not all of them. Blackamericans don't walk around talkin about their african rythm and culture heritage. But at the same time in the US africans were not allowed to practice african rythm compared to africans deported in brazil and in other parts of central and south america. That's why cubans for instance have a very african rythmic music compared to blackamerican music. The one who really brought african rythm in his music is James Brown in the 1970's especially. Singers of the motown for instance were doing music that white people could relate 2.
@djmack1nyКүн бұрын
@@lorenzbeaumacc1175black Americans don’t have to acknowledge something that blatant. Motown never marketed their artists to white Americans or their audience. I don’t know why you would even suggest that…let alone say it. Motown was always the epitome of black music. Just because they didn’t scream I’m black and I’m proud on every record doesn’t mean they sang music that was only digestible for a yt audience. Every African instrument that was played in Brazil, cuba & any other melanated place…was played by African Americans as well. Your “opinion” is very misguided and not factual. No one would ever say James was the “only” anything. I would suggest you do the knowledge on the last poets & Gil Scott Heron and people like that to see of James was the “only”…lol. It was many before and after James.

Shout out to Cuban for keeping it 100 as always. His interpretation of what was said by Joe is his, and Smooth has his, doesn't mean there's a right or wrong, it's a matter of interpretation. But notice how there is a difference between what Smooth says and what Cuban says, Cuban said "Morenos" and Smooth said "Moyos" because there is a difference and if you don't know what that is then you might want to dig a little deeper and build with someone who can explain it in better detail, one is basically a derogatory word... Moyo. I know personally that Smooth has been around Puerto Ricans long enough to know what a Moyo and what a Moreno is, I'd say the same for Cuban as well. As far as the FBA thing, well I haven't seen the interview with Hoffa & Joe because I'm tired of his rhetoric, but I will say this. I feel the FBA is nothing but a divisive plot by a failed rapper looking to create a movement when he had none as a rapper point blank.
