Kimberly up play goes crazy. You can’t really say she has the best offense in the game and that she’s not that good. Take a look at Bison. His damage is very high. He has the bomb to act as a setup tool and has very good command over neutral. If you get hit by bison with bomb on you, you die, end of story. Now while Kimberly spray can setups are intimidating, they aren’t nearly as rewarding. She does a low damage combo to get you to the corner, sets up a can and now it’s just a strike throw mixup. If you get grabbed the combo is heavily scaled and she has to setup another can mix. If she overheads, it’s also incredibly scaled and she has to do the same thing. Also she has a limited supply so she’s nice she goes through 2, she has to spend 2 bars to get her main gimmick back, in addition to the 2 bars spent to do the setup anyways. That is not “The best offense in the game”. There are several other characters who have much more efficient and scary offense than Kim does. And the worst part is she didn’t really get that many great buffs. Best one she got was the not using a spray can for her level 1

Bison only scrub here! I’ve said since day one! This character is either top 1 or 8 and I honestly can’t tell which. Now with all the results and such!.. I still don’t know! I think Broski had the best take on ranking the characters, placing them on two axes - there's a generic "Strength" axis, but also a "Stability" access. Bison and Gief (coincidentally my main characters) are both really strong, but are also _very_ unstable because they both have severe weaknesses that, at any given time, can be taken advantage of and they get RNGed out. So they're very good at taking out players early in brackets, but their consistency at the highest end is extremely suspect. When the majority of tournament matches are FT2, this is a major drawback. This is why no one has won a major using Bison exclusively. I actually think a substantial portion of the cast beats him, but he can two touch you, so he can RNG out others as well... Ken/Rashid, on the other hand, are also very strong, but are also very stable i.e. no weaknesses, so they're generally safer to pick. They don't necessarily overwhelm their opponents like Bison/Gief can, but they don't usually get RNGed out either. Akuma is the biggest question mark to me. He's unquestionably strong, probably the strongest character in the game, BUT his low health means he's also extremely volatile, possibly _the_ most volatile character in the game. I figure as players get better/more experience his win rate should go up, but winning at the highest levels consistently with him is likely super hard.

As a Juri main, she is EXTREMELY strong especially this season. Her proportionate representation is absurd, there’s very few Juri mains of top players but they do quite well. Of the el-primo characters on launch, Juri was the one with the least dependency on lights. So the nerfs to light scaling universally in season 2 was the biggest buff she could ever get, and somehow got no independent nerfs AND got minor buffs But ay, if people want to complain about Bison and Akuma and Zangief instead then please by all means

IMO Dhalsim is actually the biggest balance problem. Most of the other weaker characters, because they are simple/one-dimensional can simply get the 'Gief treatment. The one-dimensional problem will still exist, but at least the characters will see more tournament presence by dedicated players or simply as counterpicks. I dont see the pros crying about 'Gief as a problem, siimply because they play other picks. However Dhalsim's problem is more fundamental, his moveset in SF6 hasnt panned out (too weird) & he simply isnt picked, so he would need more than just good buffs to be a contender for 1500+, let alone tourney presence.

For having won the capcom cup, Juri is remarkably fair. I've never lost to a juri then said "that wasn't fair." She has unique projectiles that she has to work for and excellent, but reachable, aerial options. Sure she's a bit janky to follow with her fake martial stance and style, but you do get used to it. I think she's kinda the gold standard. Never upset to fight a Juri (though I do main a shoto, I cam imagine that matchup being a nightmare for grapplers)

Speaking as a Cammy player: she's for sure top 6. I think she's arguably the 2nd or 3rd best character in the base roster after Guile and possibly Ken. It's just that the DLC characters like Akuma and Bison are so good that they move her down from the top 5, but she can easily fight with the top 5 (who I consider to be Akuma, Bison, Guile, Rashid, and Ed). Cammy is one of the strongest characters in the game that doesn't need high damage or a gimmick to work.

I feel I could say so much but I'll try to keep it brief. I think people would talk about Aki more, if bison didn't do what she did, in a more autopilot fashion. Manon's buttons are hella overrated, because you can disrespect just about all of them. I would say bison "ruins" the game, but just because of how many of them there are, compared to something like Rashid. Gief is no longer bad, hes good. But people act like hes broken now, when there are still many characters better than him and/or within his same tier of goodness. People just like whining about grapplers because they are babies who cant adapt to polarizing MUs. I think the gief downplay stems from all the up-play he receives. Hes been buffed but his huge flaws were not fixed from season 1. Still got the worst or one of the worst defenses in the game, and is still slow as bricks. Still gets crossed up etc. hes pretty fair rn imo. Although hes not what i want in a character so i don't play him anyway,
