Thanks ealing. Just re discovering all these old tracks that folks have ripped and reposted. Memory lane.

@@burketrieschmann654 Thanks so much for the reply! There's a lot of love for the game and a big part of that's the music. Have you ever considered re-interpreting any of this tunes acoustically? Would love to hear some Pandemonium melodies played on banjo/harmonica!

@@burketrieschmann654 how possible is it for Pandemonium to return in HD or Pandemonium 3
@burketrieschmann6543 жыл бұрын
@@thundercurrie0 Not very likely. I was the composer and sound designer. The teams that made and produced Pandi 1 and 2 gameplay have long moved on to other projects. Would be great to compose another round of tunes though.

The sample used is called Orbits - voice number 34 from the Rom 8 section in the Korg Wavestation synth

@@burketrieschmann654 I need to edit that comment, I got confused between the sample and the performance patch! - the sample alone is actually called "Orbits" the performance patch name "MidiClockSong" is made up of 4 different samples - orbits, piano, steady 4-4 drum beat, and choir pad.
@burketrieschmann6544 жыл бұрын
@@beazely94 Maybe I just used the sequence from the Orbits loop. Less clutter. I'm actually searching for and digging out some of the old archive files and hope to maybe at least re master any/ some select digital reference mixes I have.

the pc version is cool too, it has a bit more due to not as many sound limits
@burketrieschmann6544 жыл бұрын
Hi Bernado. As you can probably tell from the fidelity and the midi feel of the piece, for this game all the music was composed and delivered and rendered as "chip" music triggered by the game state at run time. So, every instrument, short beat or sequence, drum parts, etc. all had to be made into small lo rez samples and delivered along with something like a midi file to trigger it all. By Pandi 2 and later, CD quality redbook 44k 16 bit audio could be streamed at gameplay. I may have a DAT reference mixes of these pieces but re creating the synths and samples I was using back then would be very hard. I could master the DAT mixes which would bump up the quality and punch a bit. Thanks to all for listening.

That's the thing though, even I don't know quite exactly what genre this theme or most of the soundtrack fits in. Considering this is actually my very first video game I've ever played in my life, I grew quite fond of its unique soundtrack.
@moonyarwick82229 жыл бұрын
It's actually my first game too. however when i was a kid, there was some kind of bug that made the music non-existent. I didn't hear the soundtrack until about a year ago when i felt a little nostalgic, booted it up on my new pc and i heard the soundtrack. This track is fucking amazing. never heard anything quite like it... Some medeival synth-electro-shit? i guess?
