I think I know what exactly this "job" is The workers are separated into 2 parts the testers and the retrievers, the main character is a tester, testers are given item that were given to the company for examination, if the item is deemed safe, then the tester is allowed to keep it, if it is dangerous, an extraction team is sent to retrieve it and dispose of and or contain it, kinda like an scp foundation sort of thing but more public and more kinder How close was I?
