In the early church, there were no elections. It was a dictatorship. Christians should be in politics if that is their vocation. We have different vocations. Not all are called to be evangelists, as important as they are. Let us be faithful to our calling and personal ministry.

Some early Christian communities were led by bishops ("dictatorships"). Some were governed by elders. Others practiced congregational leadership. Jesus gave us no blueprint for running earthly organizations. The point is moot. If God calls a Christian to run for office, let that believer do so. And if elected, may he/she always be led by the Holy Spirit.
