Hi, John, I too, have had one or two panels squirreled away but now am inspired to start working on one. Seeing you first stabilize by outlining each petal will make it much easier to handle on a domestic machine, thank you.

Your work is so beautiful. I could look at it for hours. Have you written any books or workbooks ? I find machine quilting the best part of making a quilt. Do you map out a project before you start? Thank you so much for showing your gift.

Thank you. I have not written anything but enjoy teaching in person and online. I at least spend sometime day dreaming about the project before I begin.

If you want to watch the quilting in greater detail, play the video at .75 speed. Go to settings in the upper right corner and click playback speed.

what is the order of the 2 battings? Poly on top? Did you spray baste?
@ConsciousQuilting Жыл бұрын
Poly went on top. In real life, I would have added a lot more pins. Spray baste doesn't grab very well onto fluffy poly batting. I only wound up with one pleat on the back, so I know where the label will go.

And feathers aren’t easy to do…I’ve tried. But you make them look easy.
@ConsciousQuilting11 ай бұрын
You are absolutely correct! It took me 8 months of daily practice to START to get the hang of feathers. And several more years before they had real polish.

Beautiful work. Very inspirational Please get yourself some special exercises to relieve the effects on your shoulders ... For me, the consequences of not doing this have been serious as it agrivated underlying, undiagnosed issues. Fortunately, I can still longarm quilt, so I have not had to give up completely.

I do a lot of stretching and take a lot of breaks.
