This is not accurate. I’m from Mindanao, and I know Pangalay when I see one. It’s main characteristic is the slow and gentle motion of your shoulders, arms, hands, and your fingertips, contrasting the rhythm of the music. It does not look like a duck flailing around, like the dance figures executed in the video. Wearing a malong and finger extensions does not make you a Pangalay dancer. It shows in your posture and how you tell a story with your arms, hands, and fingers. Do not use this video as reference. It is not accurate.
