I'm not the greatest authority on Pangka, having visited it only a few times in the 20-odd years I went to Indonesia for sugar mill steam. But I have the impression that it was one of the early mills to go for trucking to the yard and transhipment to rail there. Even on my earliest visit (1979), the majority of Pangka's fleet was engaged in this activity. And this was late in the afternoon when you'd have thought field activity world have been at its peak. Certainly, most of the fleet was also working yard shunts on the morning I shot this film. But, as they say, there's an exception to every rule and just as I was walking out of the mill at noon, what should appear on the line to the east, but a field train. Now I know that this line was used for mud trains, but I think I was the only outsider to witness a field train. I certainly never saw another on return visits, not I thin did anyone else. Thanks for watching the video anyway and plenty more field trains elsewhere to come.

@@rosssadler3199 does it mean that all photos of Pangka's field lines working in recent times are actually reenactment?

@@BagusWidyanto_HappyIn1997 Don't know where you got this fanciful tale from about Pangka's field lines working in recent time. The mill has been closed for a number of years and although there are multiple photos of steam at the mill, right into the second decade of the 20th century, every one is just a yard shunt.

Indeed nearly all of the field lines closed early with the exception of on north-east of the mill which was used for the mud train into the early 1990s. I did ride a train of empties during one of my early visits in 1977 but didn't go out again to collect the full loris.

Dr. Rob Dickinson, I concluded, is it possible for the BMAG 0-4-0T locomotive belonging to PG Tasikmadu to be moved to PG Trangkil because the track width of the two factories is exactly the same which allows BMAG belonging to PG Tasikmadu to be placed there
@kjokkenmoddinger6291 Жыл бұрын
Bisa karena lebar rel sama tapi mungkin nda sekedar pindah yah karena 2 pabrik ini beda kepemilikan. jadi dari aku not possible.
@internationalsteam Жыл бұрын
Possible but unlikely because the BMAG at Tasikmadu came out of service many years ago, long before Trangkil ceased to use its railway. Again, when the railway was still busy it was so well operated that an extra loco was not needed.

Sir, how many paths lead to the fields?

There were many field lines to the north and west which branched off from those that entered the mill.

Apakah anda mempunyai video aktivitas kereta pabrik gula redjoagung di luar pabrik ?
@rosssadler3199 Жыл бұрын
